until he went off he bossed the midfield, won everything, broke up their attacks and sprayed the ball around better than anyone else i've seen in a red shirt for the last couple of years.
Thought o'brien was brilliant. Hassell good first half. Jumped in to some tackles in second and was left on ground.
Yes, he really means it. In case you hadn't realised it, the new truth is Hassell and Wilson (for now) are our only hope and every player signed by Hill should be sacked tomorrow, especially Wiseman, Perkins, Kennedy, Etuhu and Dawson. For the time being, Flicker's signings are all sh!te, but acceptably sh!ite though that is subject to short-term change. PS Player of the season so far Scott Wiseman
For me he was the best player on the pitch first half, mr composed in the centre of the park. He did fade a bit 2nd half though, understandable considering his lack of games. But MOTM IMO was Steele. Welcome back luke.
Don't get me wrong, I do think Hassell is a decent player and he played fairly well today, but I don't understand the massive overrating of him by a majority of fans. Cranie would have been my choice for man of the match.
Is he being overrated? He is a championship standard player that should have played more for us in the last 2 years. Nobody saying he should play for England, but he is a better footballer than many chosen before him in the last couple of years. He shows it every time he plays.
I don't dispute that. He should have been used more over the past few years, than what he has been. I wouldn't really class a 70% pass completion stat as 'spraying' the ball, though.
He used the ball well. At least a couple of his intercepted passes were due to the receiving player not moving to collect the pass.
His effort, all round play and commitment is excellent! Im of the opinion if he'd playe 12+ games this season we wouldn't be in the relegation places. His continual organisation and talking to his teammates was more than apparant 1st half. Yes he tired...... but the aforementioned dozen games?!? Steele for me though today.
