I know some like to see him as some kind of demigod. But if that's going to be his contribution whenever he comes on, he can **** right off back to whichever boozer he came from....

    Rant over...

he was on 10 minutes too late, once they scored they closed thd door, before that we had the keys to the kingdom, that's when he should have been on.

He nearly scored, he made a couple of good passes, he was the only player we had who looked threatening. Problem was he was forced to try the Hollywood passes because the options weren't there for him and once Bolton realised he was our best player they put 3 men round him without having to worry about anyone else. Paddy is excellent but he can't do it on his own. I would have him in the team but we really need to address the basics first.

Played some good balls in which Scotland and O`grady couldn`t control.

I adore him. And he would start every game for me. But he's daft as **** at times. Let's be honest.

He showed his skill a few times with worldly balls and a mazy run in the box but then he also showed why he is playing for the side bottom of the league by selfishly and stupidly trying to get himself on telly on the halfway line with 9 players ahead of him waiting for passes

That was like watching the clever kid at school today. Stands there waiting for the ball, then whenever he gets it, either tries beating 10 men or tries a 60 yard ball with the outside of his foot. Both result in us losing possession. Then he just stands there again, waiting for someone to give it him back so he can do exactly the same.

    In-fcukin-furiating.

New haircut, too mant stray passes and one attempt to pass a ball through a crowd of players. He had a chance to shoot first time as well, took another touch and it messed up the whole attack.

I agree, hes so predictable what he's going to do, and is one footed. Tried beating the same man 3 times, and does nothing till he gets the ball again, in which he looses it.

I'm glad you lot don't sit near me at the match. We'd fall out, a lot.

He is head and shoulders above the rest of em, picked out passes that noone else could see only for the plodders to miscontrol
Every ball went to him because the players know he is the only man we've got cabable of creating something
If you prefer the likes of Perkins and Dawson you're in for a treat in the pub league next season, it's full of em

Even more infuriating is that JOB gets man of the match for giving the ball away even more. Paddy is the only quality midfielder that we have maybe he is guilty of trying to make things happen too much. He might be better going for a headless chicken routine, the fans seem to fall for that one.

Towards the end, our tactics were pass to Paddy.

I don't think we won an attacking header all day, or if we controlled a singling long through ball. Paddy was our only chance of getting through once they parked the bus.

He doesn't strike me as an off the bench sort of player, but he did see a lot of the ball in the 10 minutes perhaps too much and half the time he wasted it. If he had layed on a goal or waltzed through himself, he'd be a hero. Glavin didn't run from the halfway line to score every week, despite what some folk think. That's the sort of player Paddy is and that's the form we can expect as long as he's at the club. Whether that is worth picking over say, Dawson's contribution (which today I thought was dynamic and varied), is for Danny to decide.

What I did get from today, is that we can't match the better teams for 90 minutes. Which says to me, we give the little geniuses a go from the start and try to win the match in the first half.

Blimey, do I know my stuff. :)

How does paddy find space? He stands on the same spot and waits until all the opposition have all run past him. This is also the reason he has 8 men to beat every time he gets the ball. The trouble at Oakwell is that every fan wants to see a new Glavin .... a new saviour .... a new Messiah. McCourt is not, and never will be the man for the job.

In my opinion, your opinion on this matter is utter bilge. Opinions eh.

Fair enough. I'll just wait in the same spot until a later date, when you run past me shouting McCourt is rubbish.

Good luck with that. I tend to be fairly consistent. I also recognise a footballer when I see one.
