The transfer window will be opening and Danny must have a good idea who he'd like to keep and who should move on. Obviously the squad as it stands is not up for the challenge. So who should stay and who should go and more importantly who should we try to bring in? Is the club in any position to splash the cash? To me they must if we are to have any chance of avoiding the drop. Can't keep losing home points. Curtains if we do.
I agree with what you say. The problem is Danny will have to move some out before he can bring some in. With the size of squad we have, there is no chance we can bring in more.
I don't think there will be massive changes and nor do they need to. Hes said it today it's very different if barnsley get that first goal. We played well first half, Steele made a couple of good saves today but Barnsley tested there keeper more I think. I noticed you put a post on about O'Brien when he was at Dundee but hes a very different player I would have thought now. He's not 21 and hes coming in to is peek and you could see that today. People will disagree I'm sure but hes far better than McCourt in is all round game. I think there'll be a few changes but that will center around balancing this squad. We've got a lot of central midfielders, a lot of central defenders. If Steele can regain full fitness that would give us one loan. Fox going back will give us another loan. A defender and midfielder sold or allowed to leave on a free would hopefully allow us to bring in another player in Scotland would go for me and maybe Pedersen. Another striker or two in for those. Jennongs and RNL back would help too. I think we played the right system at Leeds and those two would fit into it perfectly.
Yeah strange that. We go to Leeds and come away with a good point and then blow all the good work by letting 3 points slip by. Your take on O'Brien is different from mine. I'd have said that McCourt was the more talented but maybe not the more active. With us O'Brien appeared to think he was better than he actually was and I do see a different player in him ATM. Maybe McCourt needs help in the midfield to help him. Those problems and others will certainly have to be addressed if we are to survive. Over to you Danny. BTW Hemmsey pal, O'Brien was with us at Dundee UNITED and not Dundee as you said. Sorry If I 'm a wee bit pedantic here but please don't get us mixed up with them.
Hmm, the catch 22 situation. If we do nothing we possibly get relegated and spending money we don't have does not guarantee success. Situation not good.
we need a left back, a pacey striker, and creative midfielder ASAP, if we wait until 31,01,2014 we're in trouble
i don't think there will be money to spend. i imagine it will be dealing within our salary structure - so more loans and maybe free transfers. obviously that means people going the other way. fox has ****** off back to norwich by the way. that's one down!
Okay, I know your a orange Dundee fan and not a blue one. o'briens playing very well at the moment. Shooting, going past players skills... MCcourts frustrating. Players around him can't gamble because if they do and he give the ball away the teams in the Poo. I've never seen anything like it at times with him. He will literally stand on the spot for minutes until he gets the ball. Does not move. If your lucky with him he will go past twice 3/4 players twice a half, for the rest of the time he might aswell go sit back down. Will not shoot from over 12 yards. Will not pass the ball. Today, everyone in the box apart from Steele A defender O'Brien and him. He stands and demands the ball then tried to take a player on 30 yards. Lost the ball so now the rest of the players are charging back. Not a hint of shape because there wasn't time to have it. You can't give him ANY responsibility, you can't put him on the wing because the full back will have NO cover.
That just about sums it up! Still, there's time to pull it round. TBH Danny hasn't seen half the squad. What will he make of those out on loan?
You've needed a left back since last season and for some unaccountable reason the club have failed to replace Kennedy. Seen him a couple of times and he does seem to be out of his depth at times.
I haven't given up even if we can't sign anyone. It's going to be difficult, but our manager has hardly had a chance to assess the squad yet. In a couple of months we'll be unrecognisable to the team we put out today. That team might still not be good enough, we'll have too see, but I've seen this manager before and I know what he can do with players that have previously looked ordinary.
Hemsey, Why the silly comment? Okay, I know your a orange Dundee fan and not a blue one. Does you no favours mate. TBH it just makes you look stupid. Try and grow up.
It's not a silly comments. It was a little joke that all, why are you getting offended by that comment. Theres Blue Dundee and Orange Dundee
Me too and let's be fair first half we looked pretty decent. first thing Danny needs to fix is our inability to play 2 halves of football
It is like telling Sheffielders that there is Red Sheffield and Blue Sheffield, It is not their names and never will be. There is Dundee and Dundee United . Simple really.
That is the point Hemsey. I'm not offended in the slightest. All I'm doing is trying to help you by stopping you making a right fool of yourself. You make stupid comments for everyone to read and I suspect most posters are just shaking their heads with embarrassment for you. TBH Hemsey you really should have stuck in a wee bit more at school as your grammar and spelling at times leaves a lot to be desired.
i don't think the lad meant any offence, tbh. i've heard people talk about the 'red' and 'blue' side of manchester. give him a break
TBF Jimmy would you not agree that they are both good at different things? Both have their good and bad points.
