Whats Micheal Vaughan on about

Just put radio 5 live on and hes talking about. Saying Gooch is the one who coaches all the England batsman and they only talk to him.

Thats not true. KP talks to someone in South Africa. I think it come out a couple of summers ago that Bell talks to someone from Warwickshire. Trott same.

Then he goes about Joe Root, why doesn't he talk to him if he thinks what hes saying that important. They've known each other for years.

Maybe he could learn him how to average 21 for Yorkshire over the season.

 

Yeah, I'd say you definitely know more about cricket and the England team than Michael Vaughan.

If he thinks Root needs to be told something why can't he tell him?
Instead he thinks its great to go on the attack.
If he knows everything why didn't he Avg 50 instead of 41?

 

Dont take this the wrong way Phil, but I think the whole World knows that Micheal Vaughan knows more about cricket and what goes off than you do! Sorry to destroy your illusions and all that but it is true. m
Also Vaughan cannot tell Root what to do as he is not part of the England set up at the moment.

Plus , if you feel so strongly about what he has said get in touch with the people that employ him, or better still Vaughan himself and tell him he is an idiot. I can guarantee you will get a reply.

Yeah I'm exactly the same. Stopped replying to the plank because absolutely everything he says is drivel proven time and time again.

Still good to laugh at his complete stupidity and ridiculous comments.

What he knows about any sports could be written on a proton.

Hemmsy, I don't think he's being particularly rude, to be honest.

I just think your sporting knowledge is limited.......you appear to "know" a hell of a lot about the last 10-15 years (and even this is questionable), but have a very poor knowledge for the historic game. What's most annoying is that you don't even attempt to listen to anyone who has any wider/longer knowledge.......and believe me, that's where you learn.

Try listening......it's a good trait to have.

 

I do listen a lot, but if it's clearly not right I get annoyed. Vaughan SHOULD know about the England players having there own coaches. It was a big thing actually in 2012 when there was the trouble with KP and Strauss...

Loved listening to KP's reaction to Boycott, Basically said what I have on here about him not knowing the current game especially someone like Kevin but in a nicer way.

Love listening to the current players or even Strauss because they clearly know whats happening. Boycott just likes to moan it seems.

Another that wound me up. The Aussies going on about Trott and him taking time. Like he'd just started then. He's been doing it since he came into the team and longer.

David Lloyd tonight talking about the dressing room, Strauss had to tell him he was basically wrong.

Fair play Hemmsy, I like someone with an opinion, shows they have balls!

Do remember that the media are there to create discussion and therefore argue against.....hence there will always be someone who disagrees. That is what TV is built on!

People on here can say what they want, about what I know. I look up at things a lot and people who I talk to might know different.
I just talk positive, do i get annoyed yes.

Believe me mate, I think i have a decent knowledge of life/sport, and then when I join up with other folk, I always learn something. And when I do learn something, I "bank it" and it always comes in useful.

I learn all the time. I actually at times prefer listening to them talk about football than watching it sometimes haha.

Ok. Here goes.

Players may talk to other coaches, and at club and county level they'll even be coached by them, but when they play for England, Gooch is the batting coach, so he does coach them all. If they're subsequently going off and listening to someone else, especially someone who's not there and not seeing what a complete f**king hash they're making of their technique, shot selection and decision making, they should be dropped and sent home.

So, if Vaughan is incorrect, that's the players' fault, not his. Likelihood is you've misunderstood though just to have a pop at previous players and to defend the brilliance of this great team, who have really put the Aussies to the sword...

 

The way he ducks into bouncers and turns his head from them, he'd have been lucky to live to his mid-20s, never mind average mid-20s.

 

Pretty much what I was going to write.

The players will have people who they consult with but when they are on tour the coaches, Gooch et al, are the only ones allowed anywhere near them. Phil, you talk like you are the oracle and I'm sure you mean well but in reality you don't know what you are on about.

During the player downtime, in between series or when they are at home, they can talk to who they want to and some might call on their long time friends to give them advice. When I played with Chris Silverwood (Sorry I know that sounds like a name drop - but its the only way to get my point across) he used to speak to an old Yorkshire coach when he netted with us called John Pearson. John coached him from being a nipper all the way through to playing first class cricket. When Silverwood was away with England however John was and would never have been allowed within 20 miles of him, it was left to the bowling coaches and head coach at the time.

Engalnds batting coach at the moment is Gooch and he will be the only one, along with his support team who will be dishing out any batting coaching to the players. Graham Ford will not be anywhere near KP or Australia for that matter.

 

Terry Nutkins. What happen was he said players should have their own coaches for batting. Cooks long term batting coach is Gooch. And he was going on about it and I thought they do use other people. KP for example and if you do a bit of looking KP was a key for Ford getting the surrey position.

Then he went on about talking to the players and what they should be doing. And then went on about Root, I couldn't believe it. Like i've said above, If Roots doing something wrong why doesn't he say something.

He's getting like Warne in summer with Cook but it's happening with all the players. It's not good.

I only listen for about 10 minutes at intervals buts he annoys me.
