This pub which is probably the main pub in Barnsley should have been the centre of celebrations to welcome back Danny Wilson Instead there were 50 Bolton fans on tables and chairs singing all afternoon The Barnsley fans I saw took one look and left........not a squeak from them Piss poor response by Barnsley fans.......... I'm more disappointed in this then I was about the match
Isn't Spoons always an away friendly pub? I'm proud that our fans had the common sense not to cause any trouble.
What exactly did you want them to do? Sounds like they made the correct decision to leave to avoid any aggro
Clearly you were in there to see the Bolton fans, and our fans leave. I take it you were standing on tables/chairs singing at the top of your voice and giving it large then?
unfortunately 'friendly' banter between fellow football fans is a rare occurrence these days. quite sad really. went to rhinos v wildcats yesterday, both sets off fans walking in and out together, seemed a much more family orientated atmosphere
I met up with some pals from Bolton, 7 of them ranging 35-45. We had a few beers in Courthouse, Walkabout, White Bear and then Mount after game. They loved it and were saying that a traditional ground, close to the town centre is brilliant, and something they now miss with the Reebok being an out of town stadium. Proper laugh between Yorkshire and Lanacashire.......exactly what it should be. Thanks Bolton boys, for contributing to a good day, despite the result.
You would have thought that Barnsley fans in their own town centre could have at least out sung a group of away fans One or two groups of Barnsley fans were ready to wade into them..........but they were out numbered because most Barnsley fans just left the pub As it happened I ended up just behind this 50 Bolton fans going down to the ground. They then tried to force their way into Groggers.........obviously thinking they had the freedom of the town The doormen stopped them getting into Groggers As usual I had a last drink in Groggers before going down to the ground and the atmosphere in there was also FLAT To say it was supposed to be a celebration of the return of Danny Wilson and it was also Boxing Day I thought the overall atmosphere generated by Barnsley fans was poor
There was plenty in Channels about 11:30, they was all ok. Just wanted a drink, just like it should be.
Barnsley fans were ready to wade into some Bolton fans, for singing songs? They're not the Barnsley fans that I want to be associated with.
