Hassell could not maintain the high standard he set himself at Leeds

Too wasteful and too many silly risks

The thing is with Hassell, that's one of the worse performances he will put in. If he's fit, he should be one of the first names on the team sheet. Not because he's some hero but because he's championship standard

eh? our best player in the first half, by a country mile. he started to tire in the second half, then got subbed. there's only two people to blame for the fact that he tires after 60 minutes. and neither of them is bobby hassell.

First half poor distribution Hassellesqe second half some reckless risks in our box, not a patch on the high standard he set himself

Wasn't the only player in midfield poor Perkins was poor too, Dawson had a great game, but overall we deserved to get at the very least a point

I can't work out whether you really hate Bobby or are a comedy account added by the moderators to instigate discussion.

    I thought Hassell played well

In midfield, along with O'Brien. Hassell at times swept up quite comfortably in front of the two central defenders and started some of our attacks with thoughtful, creative passing. As he gets up to speed, his performances will get better, which will hopefully allow McCourt & Mellis the opportunity to do what they do best. Which is cause problems for the opposition by creating chances and scoring goals.

Again, disagree. One of the main reasons we were on top first half was his ability to pass the ball forward to people's feet. It was only when Bolton sussed out that our full backs are hopeless that we got penned in and succumbed.

Which is exactly what i was alluding to earlier, the way Hassell and O'Brien played you could have decent ball players around them, not Perkins and Dawson.

What, Dawson played well. I thought in the first half he was only second to O'brien.

No he wasn't. Hassell was head and shoulders above everyone, but i don't and never will expect you to say it.

Re: I thought Hassell played well

It's not about whether Dawson played well or not. The point is that if Bobby Hassell plays as well as he did yesterday, why is Dawson there? We need someone who can worry the opposition, which Dawson can't do even if he plays out of his skin. With someone as good as Bobby in there, we need more attacking players in midfield as countless others have said.

Re: I thought Hassell played well

No he wasn't, he was a hell of a lot better than ok. He allowed O'Brien and Dawson to go forward, and got the ball back every time Perkins gave it away, which was every time he touched the ball.

Two good chances to score. On another day both might have gone in then he would have been well on course to outscore our entire midfield for the season.
