The level of finance Robins wanted to maintain was unsustainable. It was being under-written. Luckily it was being under-written by a fan. But we can't get the face on if he decides not to keep throwing his own money in to a bottomless pit.

I don't have any issue by the way with Robins deciding (or asking for time to decide) that he didn't want to continue with a reduced budget. This was a change in the terms he first took the job on.

To put things into some context here's a few figures of either debts or operating losses for those around us...Wednesday 44m,Charlton 11m,Birmingham 110m,Middlesborough 27m,Derby have lost 8m in the last two years,Yeovil 2m,Donny 3.3m....and at the other end of the scale Burnley have lost 8m.

RNL is onto yet another manager and doesn't stay fit for long enough to justify him playing. It wouldn't be a shock to see him gone at the end of the season.

Those five being let go would just be a start. Plenty more could follow.

Agree with RNL, but I still see something a bit different / special in him......worthy of another chance under DW?

i think RNL deserves another chance. you've only to look at hassell and nyatanga, to see examples of team selections that flicker just point blank refused to make.

one question I would like to ask is what does this Academy produce because Stones and Butterfield apart, nothing ever seems to come through,RNL is a good player but overall what I have seen of Hill/Flickcroft is they get a good team put a few results together, then go break it all up bringing in STUPID loan signings (that wastes a ton of money),that fella Greening Hill got from Forest and then that kid Flickcroft brought in from Man Utd were totally brain dead decisions

Sadbrewer, I wonder what the source of your figures is?

To take Wednesday as an example, Mandaric bought into the club by settling it's debts. It was reported that the Co-op Bank received about £7M in settlement of the c. £23M they were owed. Other creditors were also short-changed (or accepted a %age payment as being better than getting nothing should the club go under). I can't see how Wednesday could conceivably have had access to the credit required to run up £44M in losses in a post-takeover situation. If the money is owed to Mandaric himself, then that's another matter, because he is, after all, the owner. Your figures may be accurate, but I would question them in regard to all the clubs you've mentioned, because I can't see how your indication of Wednesday's situation could be right.

Are losses not a debt if it's owed to the 'owner'? Ask Portsmouth fans about that one

All the figures are taken from various sites dealing with football finances, unfortunately I couldn't find the one source that produced a table showing the whole championship figures..(it was on this board last season)...and you're quite right about the Wednesday situation, the bulk of the money is owed to Mandaric himself..he absorbed the debt as part of his takeover..but it doesn't alter the fact that it's debt..Mandaric will want his money back, and in the meantime will spend next to nothing.

I think Flitcroft has made our squad worse since he took over.

And consider the squad Hill took over before slating him.

It is - he brought in millions. It's his fault we've had more spend this year.
