It's his club, they didn't protest near enough when he changed the badge and colour of the shirts. should have had a mass boycott. That's the problem with football fans no backbone. Just sheep following and letting him do what he wants. Remember without the fans there's no club.
Sold their soul for success unfortunately! Hope they come tumbling back down to the championship next season , never liked them as a club or group of supporters. A lot of their fans disgraceful behaviour over the years, typified when we met them at wembley in that semi-final. My heart bleeds purple pi$$ for them.
Mackay has been treated very shabbily, and on pure footballing terms it's a bit of a stupid decision. But i'm afraid this is always the risk, when you dance with the devil. The guy has invested over £100m, to get Cardiff into the promised land. I'm afraid it's not as simple as the supporters now saying 'Tan Out' I guess he could say 'no problem, i'll sell the assets to recoup my investment, then you can have your Club back'. See where they would be then. If this is what being in PL means, I don't want it. Not for one second.
I seem to remember Many of our own fans claiming it could only be beneficial to our club when the rumours of a takeover were doing the rounds about fifteen months ago. Nothing could possibly go wrong, as long as we were to receive loads of cash. Those of us who advised caution were ridiculed & condemned. We were accused of narrow mindedness, of an unwillingness to move with the times, failing to appreciate that only good could come of new investment and it didn't matter one jot what we may lose with regards to our history & heritage. It would be irrelevant were we to change our colours, name or ground, as long as we received loads of money.
Football is all about swings and roundabouts. The guy left Watford in the lurch for his own reasons to join Cardiff. Tan as club owner has his own reasons for getting rid of the manager. It works both ways. He can't be seen as this loyal football guy when he left his last club. His profile has never been so high and he will get a huge pay off and be back in another premiership job soon enough. I'd not feel too sorry for him. He knew from the kit change what kind of club owner he was working for. But despite spending 15 million more than was budgeted for he still tried to force the hand of Tan by making it public he wanted three new players. This a manager who broke the club transfer record numerous times in the summer with good backing from the board. He should have known better.
I said exactly the same yesterday. They were protesting before the game, chanting a few songs and that's it. I bet the owner was shaking in his boots.
Just been sent the odds on their next permanent managerheis 33/1 to be their next manager. I have never seen an owner be in the betting to be the manager But it wouldn't surprise me, he probably would appoint himself
their fans are no better or worse than many across not just UK , but The world mate I went to Wembley that day too... and I saw a good deal of our fans acting in the same Boorish yobbish way as many of their fans... I also saw many fans of both sides behaving well towards each other. It just depends which you want to high light the most. I have been to away grounds with Barnsley and been totally ashamed of the fans... and also been totally proud to be there on other occasions. I now (due to my career course) live down in Wales.. married a Welsh lass even (they do say mixed marriages never work too). Our lass is from the Rhondda, When I have been in the pubs and clubs in that area the lads and lasses latch onto my accent.... "Its Barnsley " I say... you have no idea just how many pints/drinks have come my way on that ... its the mining heritage you see... we are all the same just different accents. In fact one old lady came to me and wept... she lost a child in the Aberfan disaster.. she actually thanked me for the Yorkshire Miners who turned up down there to help, but I was a bairn when it happened, and this was years after. Yes Cardiff City have some total Tw@ts as supporters but if you can show me a team that has a complete set of Saints for supporters then I WILL gladly show my arse on the Tarn hall steps Rant over
you seem to remember... Gi'Oer wi t'Barm tha can't remember what tha had fer thi breakfast past 10AM, yer daft bugger
That's football for you, rarely any loyalty shown and let's be honest mckay has done great for them but they do look like coming down again. He's not the first to go under the same footballing circumstances. Not even the first this season. It's not dissimilar to what we have done this season.
Re: you seem to remember... Gi'Oer wi t'Barm Ludicrous decision imo - but absolutely no surprise, Tan's a lunatic. A rich lunatic. The relationship had clearly broken down & there was only going to be one winner. Gutted to see Mackay go, he's a good un - he won't be out of work for long. Personally, I think Tan is trying to protect his investment. He wasn't about to fund any team strengthening in January under Malky but, ironically, you can bet that the new manager will have transfer targets. Tan is building up the asset sheet with stadium expansions, a new £15m training complex etc - with a view to floating on the Singapore stock market in the summer. The last thing he wants is relegation as it would reduce the share value. Anyway, I want Phil Brown as our next manager. Think he's the only manager that can work with a ridiculous Tan
Both looking to survive relegation. Fulham? Nobody was calling their chairman a lovely person. This Tan bloke has obviously got issues but I just don't think the sacking is much of a surprise.
Re: you seem to remember... Gi'Oer wi t'Barm Whe he eventually gets fed up, it will be a case of .. Ignore didn't work
Re: you seem to remember... Gi'Oer wi t'Barm Or there's des O'connor. He might be Tan's target tbh. Loony.
