It gets worse, horrible viewing. How Lyon gets 5-50 when he's not turned a ball is beyond me. A complete and utter embarrassment.

    It's getting all too familiar...

No one can possibly defend that, no matter the outcome in the end.

I'm normally one of their biggest supporters but it's impossible. The batsmen are so bad, to continuously lose clumps of wickets like we have is inexplicable.

    Whats happening Wellsie.

How come Carberry didn't score last night for ages. Hes putting so much pressure on the others by not scoring.
What did Bell do, It might have stayed in the pitch a bit but he was stretching for the ball.

The funniest thing to me is the amount of criticism that Cook and particularly Pietersen get. Cook batted very nicely for his 50 and then Pietersen played beautifully but quite rightly knows that the tail are hopeless so he has to go out swinging and damage his reputation further.

Geez, drop those two and I'm not sure we'd beat Bangladesh.

    Not good enough unfortunately.

So $hit scared of the quicks - even on a pedestrian wicket - that they take risks against the slow bowlers, and gift their wickets away. Another absolutely abysmal performance, against what is essentially an average Australia squad. Nathan Lyon must be laughing his c0ck off.

I honestly don't think the upper order are.
Cook especially, through pure pace hes not been caused a problems. The balls that get him are good balls. reverse swing yesterday.

The top order certainly aren't scared of the quicks, they're just not playing well enough to score runs. Once you get down to Bairstow and beyond, they haven't got a clue against Johnson and if they survive his overs, they try and slog every ball from the spinner at the other end due to fear of decapitation.

I'm struggling to fathom it mate.

Carberry was doing ok because Cook was scoring well so it was important that he stuck with him rather than giving it away, once Cook had gone he needed to push on with Root though but he got out pretty quickly.

Bell's wicket was one of the worst I've seen in international cricket, I have no idea what he was trying to do but it's such a soft wicket. It might have got stuck in the pitch a bit but to spoon it to mid off first ball like that isn't acceptable.

Cook looks in good form. I can only think of twice when I've though cook, what are you doing and that was a hook and when he got out cutting to there off spinner although that's one of is shots.

I would move Root to open for Sydney and bell to three maybe and ballence in. It's got to be about the future now although there more likely to go carberry out and Borthiwck in.
