Bet the Blackpool fans are delighted, treck all the way over the Pennines to find that the game is probably going to be off - the forecast is for steady rain all afternoon so if its a swamp now its not going to get any better cant see them playing especially as their website says "should the game go ahead" -not a sign of confidence is it
Its not that the pitch doesn't drain, the river that runs past hillsbro rises and the pitch gets waterlogged, they have the same problem down the road at owlerton.
The river only affects the pitch in extreme circumstances, I.e. When it bursts it's banks. It's not at that level yet. It is down to poor drainage.
Been wazzing it down here in S6 all day, our garden has been waterlogged for weeks and we live half way up one of the seven hills!
