I think you are forgetting that having played for Rochdale is not a requirement of our recruitment policy anymore
Isn't it 7 in 9 starts and 8 sub appearances? By the way, I'm not knocking him. I'd have him here in a heartbeat.
Either way it's a decent record. Considering he's in and out of the team. I saw him play for Rotherham a few years back, he was coming back from injury and came on for the final 20 minutes with Rotherham 3-0 down at home to Shrewsbury. They were dire, but as soon as Le Fondre came on, they looked a different side. Ended up losing 3-2 with Le Fondre scoring and assisting. What he lacks in pace he makes up for in ability. It isn't too long since he was on the fringes of the England team so I'd be surprised if he moved to any club outside the top 6 in this division.
I agree, pal. He'd be a cracking addition for most clubs at this level. He's in the Kevin Phillips mould. Unfortunately, like Kevin Phillips, he'll not be on our shopping list I wouldn't have thought.
Stuck behind him on the A1M northbound! Nice Lexus. I got off at Barnsdale bar like. My guess is Leeds...
this is the dilemma we're in. can't get a game, but we still don't have a chance. i think danny's gonna have to pull a rabbit out the hat with this 'pacy striker' he's after.. i'd bust a gut to try and land kevin phillips. stick a 'survival bonus' in the contract, job's a good un
Like Phillips we have no chance. First we cannot afford his wages and why would he want to come to Barnsley.
Would be a great loan-signing, as there would be no way we could match his Reading wages, nor the fee they would want. Having said that he wasn't pro-active enough in his last days at Rotherham, I would eat humble pie and say that he clearly has made it as a goal-getter at Championship level. He just got a bit lazy in his latter days at Rotherham, probably because he knew he was leaving. Get him in.
