The funding was for miners and their families who the Tories were trying to starve. The miners were already on strike the union were playing catch up Scargill was only a piece in the jigsaw. Miners at manvers and others had already been on strike 5 weeks.

What great foresight she had - here we are now importing coal for 50% of our countrys energy needs , importing expensive gas to generate expensive electricity
