    Just watching Jools Holland's Hootenanny …. Lisa Stansfield would still get it from me….

    Haim are OK…. John Newman Yorkshire legend …. used to play down the Wardrobe in Leeds where I used to DJ - dead nice bloke.

    Used to tolerate the Proclaimers, until 500 miles became a party "classic", but that ain't their fault.

    Need more black people & rabid punk rockers…. otherwise not bad 6/10….

    I thought it was awful I' watched it on catch up yesterday. Lisa Stansiekd still worth a turn as my mate Sidey would say but terrible. hair undecided. Proclaimers *****.

    I can see where you are coming from. They are not Yo La Tengo, but neither are they Rihanna or Little Mix… more like the Bangles meet INXS

    HAIM are terrible. I have no idea why they are considered an 'alternative' band. Modern day Hanson.

    As for Ray Davies. Depressing. Possibly the finest songwriter ever, and keeps getting wheeled out to do Lola. Badly.

    No he's just got no standards. When we were young and on the prowl. His pulling technique was just to walk up to random women in Whispers at 2 in the morning asking them if they fancied a ****. He didn't care whether they were attractive or not. This technique was surprisingly effective.

    Ray's voice has gone bless him. Best to leave those genius songs where they are now I think. The greatest British songwriter of all time. In my opinion.

    Not really my bag but the missus likes them and I suppose tgeres worse things to listen to than Stevie Nicks-lite.

    There are some really interesting female singer songwriters around at the moment though - Julia Holter, Nadine Shah, Serefina Steer, Anna Calvi
