I love Jim O'Brien, and snow. So much for my pre-match statement that I'd have Jimbo on the bench hee hee.
Me too. Thinking about it, I must be the yuppie. No, I'm a puppie as I'm past it now. But I am going out skiing as soon as the game has finished. I love snow, especially when we've just received a fresh 6 inches. Oo-er.
I will refrain from commenting on that, except to say I'll be sliding around a week tomorrow in Austria!
where are you going? - I just booked to go to Lech (well Zug as I cant afford to stay in Lech itself) beginning of Feb
Sölden, not many Brits there, mostly Germans. Go there about 3 times per season, got to know several locals and have a great time thinking I'm about 25 again!
I was on the chair-lift with a girl from Saxony yesterday and she said that she loves it on Solden. She didn't look the sort that would spend a lot of time in the Schirmbar, mind you
Not been there but one of the engineers I used to do a lot of work with in Villach was originally from there he has kept trying to persuade me to go there when he can show me round - but tricky to organise. He insists its the best skiing in Austria but he is probably a bit biased
He's not far off in my opinion, although I've obviously not been to every possible resort. There's guaranteed snow as the resort goes up to about 3400m - the top slopes open in September/October and stay open through to May - the lower slopes usually open in mid November depending on snow conditions. The first World Cup competition of the season takes place in October on the glacier. I love it, mainly for the après ski which is heaving and mad, age doesn't matter and I've always had the time of my life there. I only have one life and I intend to spend about half of it going ballistic in Sölden!
