Yep you'd rather watch someone who may, in a chance in a 100, dribble past 4 or 5 defenders and score. You can't be thinking of a goalscoring pass, cos if there has been one then please remind me. I'm all for paddy, but he is glory every time he gets it. Glory is great if it repeats No repeat Our players may be not be on the same wave length of such a genius let him go
Oh and by the way, the only player we have who is as low to perceive his initial surroundings (upon ball receipt) is Perkins Just my opinion
I hope he proves you wrong but if he doesnt we are down because none of our other geniuses will do anything to keep us up.
do you think that's a fair comparison? last season, perks and etuhu were brilliant for us, and overran almost every midfield. they weren't there to score or create goals.
Your quote was about creating and scoring chances. In 2 of our 3 wins this season he's scored. His goal scoring record is as good as our other creative player Mellis if you extrapolate it over a season he would score 6 to 8 Goals a reasonable return. In relation to the other two Perkins is a box to box midfielder and part of the remit of that is to score and create goals. He doesn't. Etuhu. Was signed as a winger isn't it their job to score and create. Your post was about McCourt's contribution he has made more of a contribution this season than Perkins or Etuhu. If you argue it's not their job to score or create then you can say it's not his to do what they do run round aimlessly but constantly and track back.
For the record, I think Perkins has been terrible this season. And Ethuhu hasn't featured. So this season isn't a barometer. That's why I think comparing McCourt with Perkins and McCourt isn't relevant. Frankly, the whole squad is a car crash. I'm not doubting Paddy McCourts's ability. I'm doubting his ability to help us get out of the $hit we're in right now. Just my opinion.
Nail on head. Most teams need someone with Paddy's ability. They also need some decent players around him. Players who are blessed with advanced skills like controlling a football, passing to a player in their own team, shooting in the general direction of the goal, standing close to opposition players at set pieces and moving when they do. The sort of things I learnt when I was 13.
Of course it is and he wouldn't necessarily be a starter in my side if we had any other options that were better. he wasn't here last season so we can't really in all fairness compare his efforts to what players did then. Otherwise I'd be saying McCourt tha not as good as Stewart Barraclough he contributed more to the reds in the 70s than you will ever do McCourt.
I seem to have missed your point , the one where you trying to turn every post into a Wilson is ***** post ! Why are you doing that? Unless you are actually Flicker or Hill? Or even one of their mates?
Aye. I actually think at some point, the BBS will end up in a pub somewhere, having a big love in and getting w.ankered together! Season needs it...
I'd be explaining why my revolutionary 1-7-2 formation is the future of footie...with McCourt as the tough tackling defender of course.
Would be a pretty one-sided debate. Best plan would be after the last home match of the season, so we've got the maximum available information on which to base our reasoned arguments.
Or we could have them every month and just read the minutes of the last meeting you know something like "This month has been exactly the same as last month . ***** !!" Then get on with the drinking and telling tales from a bygone era !!
