Then roll yourself a harry rag and put yourself to bed. All the studio albums are good from 1965 to 1971.
Great album, but in my opinion "The Village Green Preservation Society" is their absolute masterpiece.
I just don't know how to choose, between Face to Face, Something Else, Arthur, Village Green and Lola vs The Powerman. How do you choose between them?
I agree, love "Do You Remember Walter?" (and can definitely relate to it these days) , "Animal Farm" "All of My Friends Were There" and especially "Big Sky".
I've actually never heard Percy, was put off by the bad reviews when I bought all the CDs as a young 'un, might have to check it out now.
Always felt for Dave. Wrote some brilliant songs. Mindless Child of Motherhood, Tears of a Clown, Lincoln County, all great songs. Just happened to be the brother of the best songwriter there's ever been! Bugger!
Already listened to Face to face in the car on the way home and village green since I got back. They usually always cheer me up Still too grumpy to actually talk to the missis so might have to get Percy on
I concur. Who'd have thought that rabble would be so clued up!! Ray Davies is my neighbour. I see him most every week, always says hello. I saw Dave once too, on the 143 bus in East Finchley. Come when they like the 143s, terrible service.
**** football. I'm drinking Jack Daniels and listening to Kinks '66 - '70 all night Is she big is she small, is she a she at all?
I always say 'never meet your idols'. But if I ever saw Ray, i'd have to stop him and slobber relentlessly. I'd just have to. My chance to meet Barrett, Smith & Drake has slipped by...
The Kinks do **** all for me so why would they cheer me up? Mother (50s) likes them which tells me all I need to know.
