Go on enlighten me how many poor second halves of the season did we have under Robins ? 1, 2 more ? I reckon 1.
Both seasons we fell away from an higher position. Rotherham always set of well but fell away in the second half of the season. Huddersfield last season set off like promotion candidates and almost got relegated. Do i need to go on
Don't waste your time. Anyone who wants to buy into the myth that the Berk**** era was a success will always perpetuate the myth that MR wanted a QPR budget.
not liking Mark robins doesn't automatically mean those people think KH was successful. Although the first half a season under KH we played better footy than at any time under Boring Robins
I don't know if he did. That's what the club intimated he said, but we've never heard a single word from Mark Robins on the subject. He said nothing at the time and he's said nothing since. Not publicly anyway. If you've spoken to him privately and he told you that, then I stand corrected, but as far as the public record goes then Mark Robins' response to leaving Barnsley is complete silence.
This was his official comment (which confirms nowt) http://www.leaguemanagers.com/news/news-6812.html But as I said later in this thread it depends at what point you asked the board. When they wanted to portray Robins as the devil he wanted losdsa money. When Hill was the baddy budgets were similar (until the accounts proved them wrong)
I haven't done that to be fair. The released accounts are clear. You might think he was a big headed nob, but the budget reduced.
I believe Mark Robins was interviewed for the Sheff Utd job. I believe Keith Hill was too. I believe that is why Mark Robins was dismissed and that is why Keith Hill turned down the Barnsley job after the initial approach. Ironically, Danny Wilson got it who is now managing Barnsley. I do not believe that Robins' dismissal had anything to do with the size of the budget. This is a personal opinion, not a fact. I do not believe that this opinion casts a bad light on the club as a manger actively seeking alternative employment seems like a far more reasonable reason for dismissal than the story we were fed, which made very little sense to me. "We're reducing the budget." "Ok, give me time to think about the situation." "Right, we're giving you your 12 months notice, but you're not fired." Eh? I stand by my previous post, Mark Robins never said a word about why he left Barnsley or any of the circumstances surrounding it.
