Im planning on going as well - I've seen worse in my 40 years but its getting close - current side are starting to remind me of the one that Parkin took down last time we got relegated. I cant see how Danny is going to turn it round but we arent down yet
I've managed to get myself to this one. I bought the wife and daughter tickets to see Matilda for Christmas and, ahem, booked them for the day after the Charlton match. So Saturday I get to go to the match, whilst the wife and kids meet old friends and head down to the Science Museum, whereas on Sunday I will be taking my little boy to Fopp, Forbidden Planet and, most probably, one of my old favourite watering holes whilst the ladies go to the theatre. Result!
See you there, buddy. Saw the Mollster today, he came slumming it in the upper west. He was on about the Preedy grave, we'll have a chat next week.
Yes, we said we'd sit up there the next cup game, but then we decided to go up to Edinburgh for new year and stay till Julie's mum's birthday today. We were going to come home tomorrow, but the weather forecast wasn't great, so came home today. A couple of gentle hints about setting off early to make the game didn't go down well, so I didn't pursue it. Glad really, because whereas I share the disappointment of losing I am able to do it without feeling the anger that those who witnessed the second half performance seem to be feeling. So the old git went and sat up there without me did he? As for the grave, I. Am just hoping it doesn't need restoring again! It's certainly going to need cleaning and cutting back, as it is a pretty overgrown area at the back of the cemetery and it's 5 or 6 years since me, Jules and Molly sorted it all out (and it was so overgrown last time it took me four hours to find it, despite having a map of sorts!). We can maybe go up there early Saturday morning before heading down to Charlton, or Sunday lunchtime-ish. If it's Saturday morning we could see if anyone else is interested in paying their respects on the way to the match too? I'd have Ollie with me on the Saturday, as we're staying at his in Hendon, but would have Lucas with me on the Sunday, so Saturday would be preferable, as it's a fair old walk from the tube station to the back of the cemetery for a three year old, let alone a 44 year old who can't feel his legs!
That's my kind of planning - fantastic stuff. Well it would be, but I fear that your wife and kids will have more fun than you on Saturday. Sunday looks like it might be a bit more enjoyable for you though! In a similar vein, we would never contemplate visiting the UK in June or July - our favoured time nowadays is Christmas, for maximum games per days in the UK. Having said that, as we will likely be playing against Oldham next season (my husband's team), that fixture may well have a bearing on our next UK trip. Meantime, nope, I will not be at the Valley (!), even though it is one of my favourite grounds.
ill be down there 745 off wolverhampton, meeting the BMD guys in kings cross then where ever the beer leads before getting behind the team i love, if we go down then ill still be there
I'll be there. Leaving Glasgow at 23:40 on Friday night on the Megabus, get back at 06:15am on Sunday! You Reds.
If they call it off, I hope its before we set off. If they don't, there is going to be some very drunk tykes in London :nails:
8.10 train from Doncaster. Lad's 30th birthday although he doesn't post on here. To be honest it's all about the journey. I'm a London tyke again (in reverse) this weekend
