I'm wondering why Danny hasn't brought in any of his own people and why Mellon is still at the club. I'm not having happy thoughts.

:(Not sure of that. The teams that have been selected bear more of a resemblance to Flitcroft and Mellon's teams with one up front and the rest of the selections and formations bizarre!

Agree is it new regime or old? Its very difficult to mix both successfully and we have got enough problems. Personally I think wilson has to let mellon go & bring in redfearn or eaden. Im more interested to see this happen than any players in / out. We got to get the leadership right first yesterday was hillcrofts team & their tactics. Dannys not daft wouldnt surprise me if this happened very soon.... coyr!

It makes you think though doesn't it? The current teams bear no resemblance to the way Danny sets up his teams, I know that he can only work with what he has but.....

You can't seriously think that we'd appoint Wilson as manager, yet allow Mellon to choose the team?

I understand the fans demands for a clear out of all things Hill/Flitcroft related, but keeping Mellon on for a short while was probably necessary whilst Wilson got to know the players. If he wants to bring in his own staff, now that he's had a handful of games in charge, he should be allowed to do so (if we can afford it). People don't seem to realise that Wilson may actually want Mellon around, or that getting rid of him and sorting out a replacement may not be financially viable.

I think it's a bit like countdown, only they have to choose a formation first.

Danny: "I'll have a formation please, Mickey."

    Mellon: "It's 4-5-1, Danny"

Danny: "F*ck me, Mickey. Don't think the supporters will like that!"

    and so on.

They then randomly choose players to fill positions in the team.

Danny: "I'll have 4 defenders please, Mickey"

Mellon: "so that's M'Voto, Crainie, Ramage and ahem…(chuckle) Kennedy."

Danny then gets 30 secs on the clock to put them in some kind of order.

Think the Hassell, Nyatanga, Digby and Wiseman cards must've been taken out of the deck.

Just trying to put a light hearted note on it.

You're basing that opinion on how he used to set us up, over fifteen years ago, with a better set of players. Things change.

I don't see how it was necessary though as keeping someone just because they know the players when you're sacking that management team for picking the wrong players is a bit irish

Well, a friend of mine sat down and interviewed him on Thursday and it was made clear to him that he picks the team, and that for instance Tom Kennedy is in the side because Danny wants him to be.

No conspiracy theory. No agendas. Just a manager making managerial decisions.

Do I agree with him on Kennedy over Nyatanga? No. But then, I'm basing that on one game from Lewin at Elland Road. Danny has vast experience (nearly 1,000 games as a manager) and sees these players day in, day out. And so I'll bow to his greater knowledge. I mean, he did get my club promoted to the top flight so I'm kind of hoping he knows what he's doing.
