But you're ignoring the key point behind your criticism. He signed league one and two players because he had a league one budget, and at the same time was trying to offload highly paid players like Lovre and Jay Mac who were eating in to that budget
Interest in Dawson, Perkins and. McNulty? In who's imagination?! There's been no direction since he bought the club.
He had the lowest budget in the Championship then, certainly in his first season, which is the same thing basically. Anyway mate I thought we'd found some common ground on Keith of late
Yes I can. I do accept that we have signed some good players through the years, from lower leagues. But these last 2-3 seasons we have a majority reliance on lower leage players, who have not "cut the mustard" and will take us down. This is a Hill / Flitcroft fault, particularly when they have gone for quantity, when investing in shrewd Championship quality, would have been a far better strategy. And no, it's not hindsight, it's just sound, common sense managerial knowledge, to me? I hope Mansford and DW can see this, act upon it quick(er) and get us moving in a upward direction.
I was in the Barnsley end actually. There were, to my knowledge, about ten Dale fans there that day. My brother got us a ticket after you beat Hull( I think?) the week before. I remember saying at the time that it was strange there was no real panic on this forum about tickets over that weekend. Apologies to any Bansley fan who couldn't go, but presumably they realised there was a chance they may sell out. Similarly, there were Dale fans who couldn't get a seat in our main stand yesterday as it sold out, with some Leeds fans present too. I said to one person that they had a chance to get a ticket and needn't have left it so long.
Leicester were interested in McNulty. Birmingham in Dawson, and a fair few in Perkins. But then, perhaps it was all bluster from Keith/Flitcroft?
