Having a debate about which is the best? Recently returned from South after visiting are lasses family. people are pig ignorant, the price of houses! A couldn't really believe it, commuting is terrible. The price of a pint, night life is very boring, non are up for a laugh, Non could understand me, Evan someone asked me if I was French!
I travel all over the country for work and whilst there are some lovely places in all different parts of the country, I am always happy to come home. You point out the main issues - the concentration of people in the South East is so bad that the congestion is ridiculous and the house prices are beyond reason.
Suffolk coastal area is superb Quiet No traffic and full of quiet unassuming people , including me x.
North every time. Many people in the south, particular in our capital city, are like zombies, rushing from one appointment to the next with staring eyes, thoughts only for the next meeting and the next wage packet with or without bonus. No time to even say hello or good morning, and react as if they've been shot if someone dares to say hello to them. Thank God I don't have to live down there and go through all that.
Always the north and will return for good one day. In the meantime, rural South Norfolk will do me fine.
Life in the South-East is a bit like a drug. It's an adrenaline-based lifestyle, with all the highs and lows associated with it. Culturally it opens up your mind, because people who live in the South-East especially represent everywhere in the globe. But the pace of life is quick and demanding - if you are up for it, you can get a buzz...when you are not up for it, it can be very tiring and alienating. Funny that someone thought you were French
Yes there are some great characters in there Best in the summer when the london A11 set call in on there way to Holt and burnham mkt Cant move for range rocers and familys clad in some form of fashionable tweed
It's that London area thats the biggest **** hole in England, think i'd rather be a Taffy Paddy or Jock then a cockney, its just a shocking place. i can't believe people who live in the west end Fulham & surrounding areas who have had their 3 bed houses worth a million for more then 10 years still choose to live in the dump, they could live like kings up north, with no mortgage but they actually choose to bring up their families in such a dangerous place with the tribes running riot, its unbelievable.
London is fantastic to visit , but I would not want to have to live there Your views are very narrow minded though
Despite living in the south for the last 30 years I still prefer the north - but there are good points and bad points to both - Once you get far enough away from London - you can find places where people are friendly - like Farnham for example. I will still always think of Wombwell as home though
