Not one other member of the Ashes touring party (player or coaching staff) can return back home with any sort of credit.
LOL You do realise they lost 5 0 right ? You do realise they failed to get 200 in 6 out of there 10 innings ...right ? You do realise only 1 century was scored by a england batsman during the entire 5 tests..right ? You do realise there was only 1 partnership of over 1 hundred in the entire 5 tests by english batsmen...right ? You might have the tittly lip on because your heroes have been humiliated but to suggest jack tatty is a wum for speaking the truth speaks volumes for how delusional it is in hemsworth land. One last quote ""We certainly weren't good enough, so there should be change of some description. This does feel like the end of an era." Have a guess who
Does that still apply if they win the ODIs or the T20is? (I don't think they will personally, but the change in players might make a difference to the performance levels).
I'm fully well aware of what happened. But i'm aware of the plus too. England come away from Australia or at least the tests with a big defeat. It could have been a good thing for the England team because now they can change things. Cook got a team that had just gone from one to two in the world. Then won in India and he couldn't really change a lot. Theres a lot of good players around at 24 and under that could be playing or England in 10 years time. Root ballence Robson Mills Finn Borthwick Stokes Bairstow and a lot of others. They will want to have a look at the likes of Woakes Kerrigan Overton A quote from a now South Yorkshire Journalist '' England cricketers are very good, They have a huge amount of talent'' Although he mentions the Australia squad, he needs to have a look at there ages
So referring back to the original post which you're completely ignoring, apart from Stuart Broad and Ben Stokes, which members of the squad and staff can come back with their heads held high?
Scott Borthwick, took some wickets. Will have learn't a lot. KP. Played well and curved himself 100% for the team.
Can you link to the article you quoted? The only similar quote I can find is "We have a huge amount of talent in England." Which came from Alastair Cook.
Borthwick bowled more full tosses than pitching deliveries and Cook turned to Pietersen to bowl ahead of him. Took wickets from aimless slogs. 1 decent ball/catch to dismiss Rogers. Pietersen didn't make 300 runs in the series, averaged 15-20 below his career test average, and was fielding at long on-3rd man all game because they seem to have no interest in his opinions. You're right, they will be buzzing on their return.
& what you're basically saying here is that you value Michael Vaughan's opinion when it suits you but slaughter him when it doesn't.
We had a good couple of years and will go back to being a mediocre team at best now. Were miles behind cricket in South Africa India and Australia in terms of bringing talent through. Yet another English sport miles behind the rest run by old men that need to move with the times.
First of all, tell me a leg spinner at 24 that didn't. Warne went for 150 when he first started and hes very open about that and how you need to give leg spinners time. KP batted for the team. Hes an aggressive player. He normally fields on the boundary because hes quite quick and hes not the greatest short medium range catcher. Not sure if it was the ashes of 05 a a couple of home series after that but he dropped quite a lot of in the circle and hes admitted in the past it's 50/50 if he catches the ball.
Aye, massive plus that, how simple of me not to take the positives from it. As for the youngsters you keep telling us are the future Potential "having or showing the capacity to develop into something in the future. latent qualities or abilities that may be developed and lead to future success or usefulness. the possibility of something happening or of someone doing something in the future." Sport is littered with people who were potentially good as youngsters, most are now selling insurance. Hopefully the cricketers you mention make it but its not the guarentee you appear to believe it is
