Sounds like a thoroughly decent bloke, hope they find the tw*t that took his life and ruined the life of his family. I do think £5000 for information is a bit poor though, why not make it 50,000, that would make anyone with loyalty to the killer surely come forward...I don't think 5 grand would given that they themselves would then become a target.
If the reward is too high the filth spend most of their time sifting through ******** god knows why people make stuff up because the plod won't pay out unless its true and if it's not true they will find out, but they do then it inders rather then helps because every report needs checking even if its ***** and its too time consuming.
I get what other people have said about people wasting police time if the rewards are big but when you think of the cost of the investigation, surely that must run into several thousand pounds a week at least. A big reward might be cheaper and obviously it's only paid when there's a satisfactory result.
For me one of the worries is they won't ever be court or found. Knowing Sheffields population the culprits could all be in there home countries abroad wherever there from.
