My dad says I was at that game. But I'll leave this thread to the oldies. ;)

That makes it as close to 1964 as it is to today!

Anyway, every time this game gets brought up we all end up having the same row, so can I be the first to say...it was ruddy Darren Wood!!!

David Currie and Steve Agnew were sensational.

However, this thread will soon turn in to an argument about whether or not it was Graham Roberts who injured Gwyn Thomas. Always does.

Too late - it already has.

Another memory I have which I think was from a Chelsea game and I'm pretty sure it was that one was of overcrowding in the away end and a stretcher being sent in which subdued the crowd somewhat, then 2 minutes later another being sent in at which point someone shouted "Bloody Hell, he's in bits!".

I now have a bladder the size of a field mouse, so lie ins are a thing of the past.

I always tell people that I don't need reminding of my age, because I have a bladder that does that for me.

Brilliant game. Eyes closed I can remember it like yesterday. The match against Bolton a few weeks ago I'm struggling.

    Re: Thanks, Trev

Anyway, 25 years ago or not, I remember the game like it was yesterday. 3-0 up at half-time and my dad, in all seriousness, turned to me and said if we can get another goal early on in the second half we have a chance of winning this! Then again, history dictates that a 3 goal lead by Barnsley is no guarantee of a point, never mind a win.

Two other things stuck in my memory from that game. Firstly, Ken Bates was having a dispute with the BBC, so our highlights weren't shown on match of the day. And secondly, all the programmes sold out well before the kick off. One of the sellers told me that some blokes from Chelsea bought them in bulk, so it was some time until I managed to get my hands on one.

i was at that game and went into players lounge afterwards

My dad knew paul cross at the time so thats how we got in. When i say lounge it was a porta cabin round the back of the west stand.

From memory which is a little hazy i remember Paul Futcher & Kerry Dixon who was quite big at chelsea at the time. Seem to remember it was the game where Gwyn Thomas had that nasty challenge and never played again??
