It's the Hemsworth way - say something he doesn't agree with and you're an idiot, say something he does agree with and its incontrovertible proof of his genius, especially seeing as he thought it 5 minutes before you said it.

I can't open it (likely overseas IP address) but I don't really care, this is all about opinions, and I don't rate him. You do, obviously. But this article comes from the same radio programme, I believe: http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/cricket/25636332

So, Tufnell, one of his contemporaries doesn't think he's a great player either.

As far as I am concerned, if you set yourself up as "one of the world's best batsmen" and you fail to deliver the goods, then you get what's coming to you. He's an arrogant, egotistical bloke, who plays for himself, not for his team. That's my opinion, and that of many others. You don't agree. End of story.

Not saying that HT is always right, but your criticism of KP is extremely harsh. He's had one bad series (where he was still our top scorer) yet you have had a go at him for weeks. He's won us loads of tests over the years, there's a reason all the teams around the world fear him. How did he set himself up as one of the world's greatest batsmen exactly? By scoring runs, by performing well over 8 years for England? He has never come out and said he's the best, or one of the best, ever.

Your opinions are out of order, and incorrect. Just because you don't think he's the greatest ever doesn't mean he's not been a very good cricketer for England. I get that he's a bit of a tool at times but his record says everything, he's class.

I apologise wholeheartedly for not having the same OPINION of him as you and HT. Sorry, but how can an opinion be incorrect???? Bloody stupid remark, IMO of course!

I never said he has not been a very good cricketer for England, and I also challenge your assertion about the quote never having been made. I have used the quote that I heard the commentators use about him (Botham, I think) - so I guess it is second hand, but they would not use it if they had not heard it themselves. He said it ahead of this Test Series (again according to the commentary I heard) - he set himself up, and failed. Yes, he has played well, very well in the past, but he has not done it THIS SERIES, which is what I keep referring to. I would say that he has been class, but is no more.

Opinions cannot be wrong! I'm sorry.

    Not sure.
Think he's got Robson to open and Root at 5 or 6.
    Bell at three.

When you dress your opinion as a fact it can be.

And when have I done that, pray tell me? Enough is enough. You made a crass statement, and are trying to wriggle out of it IMO(!)

    Time to move on.

Don't think Calgary has said much wrong. KP has been poor this series. KP has been poor a lot of series, and even when he's been outstanding, he could have been better. mrx summed it up with his Graham Hick version 2 comment - he's dismissive of poor bowling and it's fantastic to watch, but he thinks he can do that all the time against anyone, and this has led to him throwing his wicket away when he should have dropped anchor and hung around for a bit. He's an awesome talent on his day, but those days are getting fewer as he concentrates more on the money side of the game, ie 20/20 and the IPL. He's always been more about KP and the legend rather than KP the team player. His average is good, he's hit some big scores, but most often against poor sides and I struggle to think of many close games where I think "it's a good job KP was there to bail us out".

Sorry but to say hes only scored against not very teams isn't true.
Hes scored a 100 in every country apart from SA and it seems Bangladesh although hes only ever played them 4 times.

    He averages
    52.71 against Australia
    62. 15 against India
    50.31 against South Africa
    51.41 against Sri lanka
    56.30 against West Indies

He averages big against Bangladesh but if you look he averages big against all the other big countrys 50 plus against the big three. SA Aus India with 62 against India. For a guy thats had problems with spin thats amazing.

If you look at the facts you will see hes at his best normally against the bigger teams and normally doesn't do well against the small teams.

You will normally hear the commentator like Warne Hussain Lloyd Botham say hes a BIG game player.
NZ infront of 2000 isn't what it's about for him but Full Headingley or A ground in India, one of the best attacks in the world like in 2012 and hes on it smashing them around the ground.

I repeat, he's dismissive of poor bowling. Luckily for him, most bowling attacks are poor, which makes the sides poor. I didn't mention a country. Still, don't let that stop you.
