    Hes a proud man.. he doesnt want charity so he went to the bank where He owes les than £3k on his mortgage .. They refused to give him a short term loan until the house is sold.. they wouldnt help as his income isnt enough..

    He's needs to believe that claiming benefit is not charity it's what he's paid his tax for over his working life. The current government and a lot of misguided people are making people feel like its a shameful thing to do, that is so wrong.

    Thanks for the advice Kanekat.. I have spoken to DIAL on his behalf and an appointment has been made to see someone.. hope that they can help even if its only till his house is sold.. Thanks again for that..

    The people who are suffering who shouldn't be are the likes of Jax & Jedi One that you mentioned. The reason why is because they've worked. They've paid full NI contributions so are only entitled to contribution based benefits. If you are not terminally ill it's more than likely you'll be placed into the work group of ESA which replaced Incapacity Benefit. So If you've had the audacity to work the majority of your life should you fall ill you can only claim for one year then, like Jax, you get sod all. This really needs addressing as its so wrong. If he had never worked he'd be fine, that's insane!!

    But the alteration to their benefits is new and entirely the fault of this Government's policies towards those on benefits. Their circumstances haven't altered, just the Government's approach. In my opinion, this is due to everyone on benefits being tarred with the same brush. The many pay the penalty for the actions of the few and it's wrong.

    And this is exactly the sort of person the system exists for.

    Sounds like he's struggling a bit though. Get him in touch with Welfare Rights mate. He should be on more than that.

    Agree 100% matey. They've done it because it's suits them and the baying masses they've brainwashed into believing everyone on benefits is how these programmes & the Daily Mail portray. If only they'd set about their chums the tax dodgers with such ferocity

    This is just the kind of situation the welfare state was set up for and vermin in charge are dismantleing it at an alarming rate, helped by complicit TV producers and stupid, ignorant bigots who wouldn't have been out of place in Nazi Germany. I wish your friend well and hope his ordeal comes to an end soon. as a previous poster said his wife and kids should be ashamed of themselves.
