Album of the week on Ken Bruce's radio 2 show. Boring and turgid are just 2 words i'd use.

    Is turgid and boring ?

I think he is on a sloe downwards, but I know there are plenty that still like him! just like there are that still think Macca and Elton are good !!

Bruce's new album isn't turgid and boring. Been listening to it for weeks now. It's a grower.

Mines on order with the bonus dvd which has apparently now sold out.......have deliberately avoided listening to the leaked feeds except of course the title track and Dream Baby Dream, check out the vid of that on you tube, brilliant......on sites such as greasy Lake bit of a mixed reaction but seems to be that you either like Tom Morrello or you don't............the title track is growing on me, DBD is pure class, both covers of course though, As a filler album ie some previously released songs and old songs appearing for the first time it is bound to get a mixed response esp from the Bruce shouldn't record covers brigade. Roll on next week when can play it in its entirity

I've got mine on order with the DVD mate , I couldn't resist streaming it and having a listen, to be honest I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was, I think The Wall is as good as anything he's written (it's about a fallen soldier) and Down in the hole really should have gone on The Rising as it's about losing a loved one in 9/11 then there's a couple that's out and out feel good songs that's not a million miles from "sherry darling",

well he's been in Ausralia and South Africa, He'll probably do USA then Europe maybe next year...this is probably only a stop gap album like The Promise, I reckon there could be a BITUSA Anniversary set later in the year its 30 years.

By the way on Greasy Lake there is a Bossman66...Have you read the Bruce Biography by Peter Ames Carlin, I got it for Xmas very good read.

Yes I have mate I really enjoyed it, there's rumours of a River box set doings the rounds, High Hopes is really getting mixed reviews but I really liked it on first hearing, it's certainly a lot better than Working on a dream...I'll have to go on to greasy lake and find what I'm registered has, you'll have to let me know your thoughts on the new album mate

When It comes I will, I don't usually take any notice of reviews...I would love a "River" box set especially a DVD from that tour. I have a Bootleg but the quality's poor.

I only read G/L although Ive been registered for years, havnt been on Backstreets for ages,
re the River tour there was a decent link on G/L a couple of weeks ago for a Vietnam vets concert from LA, great set list and decent quality, ive not really got many Boss boots but that one is worthwhile
