    Interesting

Would you not class that as bullying

And they get it every game for their entire career and not just the away or home fans

Don't think it's worth it if you can't see it. Sorry for bothering you.

    That answers my question

Where all guilty of bullying at some point.

everyone as abused the ref at some point and thats no different to abusing someone who might or might not be gay

Because being black or gay is not a choice.

People choose to referee or be footballers so to question their ability is not unreasonable.

Saying a referee is blind is not criticising there ability its claiming they have a impairment

...and on that enlightened comment 'I'm out'.

Totally agree. The bullies be it in a racist or homophobic context are not only happy to bully but believe they have the right to judge how those that are bullied should react. What bullies do is blame the victim for their actions.
The bullies will cloak their abuse in terms like 'banter' and will criticise the bullied for being over-sensitive. The bullies believe they are superior to those they bully.
Bit like the 'swearers' at Oakwell - they think they've a right to swear loudly and if someone is offended then it's that persons fault for being offended.

I don't think fellow players saying I was gay would wind me up but hearing it from a set of fans would mess your head up a bit. It'd take an exceptionally strong minded player to keep composed & play to his best whilst that was happening.

I bet you have some arguments at oakwell if you think swearing shouldn't happen at football.
