My mate text earlier and said he'd been talking to a few of the academy players in the gym at Metrodome and they reckon young Digby could be in the mix tomorrow. If he's available and fit and I'd give him 5 games on the bounce and see how responds. Although we've not seen much of him he's surely worth a punt instead of Dawson and Perkins? Let's get 1 or 2 homegrown talents in the team and start building again.
What I've seen of him he's certainly worth giving a go, I mean, what have we got to lose? Loves to get on the ball early, breaks play up, looks to go forward and plays with confidence and desire. He's the sort of player who can unlock doors with his passing too.
The first time I saw Digby play (he'd already played a few first team games) I was just as impressed with him as I was with John Stones. Unfortunately the first eleven at Barnsley became 'Flickers mates weekly kickabout club' and he never stood a chance of breaking into that. What did he get, one game, didn't tear the opposition apart so Flitcroft wrote him off. He'd probably be the subject of seven figure transfer bids by now if he'd have been picked for most of the season.
Digby is going to be the next star at Oakwell......Danny has the managerial skills to develop this guy into a first team regualar. He will be renamed Paul "Redfearn" Digby.
i only saw him once and was very impressed. looked very natural on th ball, and seemed able to ping 40 yard diagonal balls to feet, left and right of the pitch. he would have featured before now if it had been up to me. How about... ............................Steele............................ McLaughlin.....Cranie.....Ramage.....Nyatanga ............................Hassell........................... O'Brien........Digby..............Mellis..........Shea ............................O'Grady..........................
Don't think there could be too many complaints with that team, just think O'Grady needs someone beside him though.
Or... ...even better... he plays perfectly adequately for the rest of the month. Then shines from the end of the transfer window?!
Got to agree, he has to be worth a run in the team. We need something different in midfield and he has looked good on the few occasions he's been given a go.
Hope you're right and so would I. He's always looked good when i've seen him play and could be the next Stones sold on easily for big money. If only he could stay fit long enough.
I'd love to see Digby starting games. Noble-Lazarus competing with Shea for the left wing spot & Rose getting regular appearances off the bench & even a few starts alongside O'Grady between now & the summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i'd happily go with a tree in the middle, drop JOB to the bench and play someone just behind COG...as much as it galls me to say, it maybe Paddy? been ultra disappointed with pedersen, but to be fair the service has been dire
There's probably something in the rule book that forbids that...then again we are desperate, could try leaving the sprinklers on
