Here ya go.. <s style="text-decoration: none; ">#</s>CAFC v <s style="text-decoration: none; ">#</s>Barnsleyfc HAS BEEN POSTPONED following a pitch inspection by the referee. Charlton v Barnsley OFF <s style="text-decoration: none; ">@</s>footballheaven
Very poor from Charlton. They've had a "dome" over the pitch all week, albeit it hasn't rained much since last Sunday (phoned my mate who lives in Reading). Their pitch must be terrible. Also, they called the FA Cup game off last Friday, re-arranged the game for Wednesday but called that off on Monday. That was against Oxford - about 60 miles - Yet they decide to have a pitch inspection for a team travelling 200 miles. Unbelievable.
On a separate note, they've had a few off and so need to rearrange a few. If they carry on, they could end up with a busy March/April. Outside chance of relegation?
Charlton should be fined, if they really wanted to get the game on they could have and surely they have an obligation to do all they can to ensure the pitch is in playable condition. If it was a massive downpour the previous night then fair enough, but no water has touched that pitch for over a week.
Are there any cheap, lower league London games the fans could go to? Tick a random ground off the list, perhaps? We did that once after travelling down. Got to Barnet!
Absolute disgrace. It just shows the utter contempt they have for the paying fans. Something needs to be done about this because this decision at this time on a Saturday is unacceptable.
I wouldn't say they are an outside chance, they will be right down there at the end. 1 of 6 or 7 that could go down IMO.
And the game will be on a Tuesday night aswell so what about them fans what went today and may not be able to go next time
If Oxford dump em out of cup on Tuesday. if ground is playable by then, 4th round date would be available for consideration.
As are brentford wimbledon and dagenham. Might be worth those who've travelled having a look in somewhere.
