Fantastic reading for any Barnsley fan. Makes me feel proud he's one of our own. Roy was there watching today, England call-up could be on the cards.
Its is and im chuffed for the lad but doesnt change the fact we were robbed and i bet we get nowt if he plays for england!
That is great cos Merson on Soccer Saturday said he was struggling! He is a semi amusing tit however Merson not Stones
Good luck to him, I genuinely hope he gets a call up. I'm still miffed about the transfer and these comments just underline that we were mugged again in the transfer market. I actually think the Stones transfer will turn out to be the biggest mugging in our long history of transfer muggings.
Suppose he's yet to be really tested in the Premier League but wouldn't surprise me if he got a call up to the next England squad.
my mate at work is a toffee. i mailed him when they signed him, raving about him. he obviously didn't know anything about him then, and saw him very much as a development player. he mailed me back on friday, absolutely eulogising about him. ST holder, and tells me the everton faithful are already very excited about him. like we all knew, he'll be a £10m player this time next year.
I posted this at the time. I do hope and expect to have more money following further Everton/England appearances. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/t...rde/transfers_alle_19_5_Abwehr_alle_alle.html
And if you want to compare his fee to English CB's under 21: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/t...orde/transfers_alle_21_3_Abwehr_189_alle.html £3m was probably above the market price tbh. If he'd played a full season we'd have been able to stick another couple of million on it im sure. But he'd only played 20 games.
