Corner Pin...I remember thinking the beer was awful..and how could my dad drink this..as I got older I realised it was Whitbread Trophy in there, and the old man wouldn't have touched it had they been giving it away.
Building is still there but no a house. Olivers Ale House , Hoyland. It's now a dentists, appropriate actually with the amount of teeth lost in there
My fiest local was New Inn Wath, later the Plough West Melton, now its our kitchen next to the fridge.
Used to go in Olivers and Gardeners on Thursday nights, Rock nights, loads of Bikers, Rockers and great music....oh where have the last 30 years gone.
The two places I used to drink were the Friendship Inn, Gawber, & Portcullis …I was 15 and looked about 13, but I only drank a couple of halfs of cider. They both had DJs on midweek & weren't too bothered about the licensing laws, until they were raided….
