Make them play the fixture at our place

I know. But it should. He's 100% right. Why should we have to trail back down there, at further expense, because of their sheer incompetence?

It couldn't be more wrong. If it was solely an issue between the two clubs, ie. a cup tie, then it could possibly happen, but what if it was swapped and Barnsley win and then stay up by a point? Other clubs would rightly protest that you'd had an extra home fixture.

Remember Plymouth away, few years back? 4-1 up half way through 2nd half? Well it stopped raining about half an hour after it was abandoned, and could have finished the game. Re-arranged game everyone had to trail back down to Plymouth AND start from 0-0

What I'm saying is since when does logic come into decisions when football is concerned?

there would be no logic in switching the fixture though.

Eh? So at what stage does the result of a league game ot affect any other club in the division.

Even if it didn't affect a relegation/promotion issue, it could mean one club finishes highe than another in mid-table, which means more prize money.

It's like an episode of Sherlock on here.

Does it affect my ability to give an opinion?

Have to say I think you are. For the integrity of the league we have to play at their place.

    Of course we do.

Playing it at Oakwell? I like - and know Matthew - but I disagree on this suggestion.

My opinion, a points deduction to Charlton should be applied. But that won't happen either. So lets suck it up and move on.

Just out of interest, what does knowing Matthew Murry have to do with anything?

so, no punishment to charlton whatsoever then? third game in a row, no advance warning to the club or its fans, and we should just suck it up and move on? don't disagree with you on much mate, but have to here. they should get hammered.

Give over you daft sod. He's saying that despite knowing him, and liking him, he disagrees.

You know what it means so why ask??

I was actually being genuine. I didn't work out the relevance of knowing Matthew Murray, it's not like he's said anything controversial and knowing him personally would back him up in any sort of way.

    Sorry for being daft ........

    Thanks for that.
I know Matt reads the forum (posts on here too) and so I was just trying to disagree but in a friendly way, as you do.
But seems one or two took it in an arsey fashion which I can't fault em for because I am an arse.
    You reds, etc.
