TBH I wouldn't have played Joe, I really hope it works out for him but I think he needs some time to get his confidence back.
Calm down. Look at the team they are just trying things out. It's not important to beat them in every game now and learn nothing, they are trying things out and it will be beneficial for the team in the long run. I think they have four ODI series to come, including this one to go long with a series in the WI and then at the start of the summer against SL and play India at the end. Broad didn't play and they are without the likes of Anderson KP and Trott who might not play again. Can Stokes be trusted to bowl 10 overs ? Will be one of the things they want to get out of it.
HT - Calm down - It was a joke! I know they'll be experimenting now & not looking seriously at the results!
I didn't see it. From what I've read they weren't good enough in the field and that isn't good enough if true. Looks like root got in a hole and that isn't like root in ODI cricket. batted three today I see and I'm not sure if he knows how to play it. He normally bats 5 and he can go out and just hit it and he's not well doing that for both England and Yorkshire.
I agree he could do with getting out of the spot light but I feel he'll they will pick him in he t/20 World Cup and he'll go back to yorkshire late.
It really didn't fall for England today Finch could have been out cheaply several times but each time it wasn't to be and he went on to effectively seal the win. There was a dropped catch, a failed LBW shout, an edge to slip the ball after Cook had removed the slip and a lofted ball that went just wide of the fielder. This was all in the space of a few overs. Not saying England were great but they definitely didn't have the rub of the green.
Re: It really didn't fall for England today That it with there top order, it's everything for nothing. They both can hit it straight up in there air on 0. JT. You learn more out of defeat than victory.
