Dogs abuse coming his way, and rightly so, we gave him the opportunity to play at a higher level, he was picked even when playing poorly, if he didn't like any of his time here he should have left before now and saved the rest of us having to watch his ineptness while stealing a wage. Could become one of the most hated ex-Barnsley players ever.

sounds a bit harsh, but he's done himself no favours. he'll get absolutely hammered now though, if he does ever return to oakwell with preston. and he'll only have himself to blame.

Remember him saying something similar when he left Rochdale to join us

Remember reading their forums and they weren't happy with some of his comments then, hardly surprising to hear them again after failing with us

Am I missing something here. Hasn't he just said he didn't enjoy his time with us, at a time when he's just been told he was surplus to requirements too? He's not said anything bad about the club or the fans (although he has more reason to than most).

There is an irony in that the people who have gone on most about him needing to grow a thicker skin and toughen up seem most offended by the blandest of comments

Was he told he was surplus to requirements or was his agent looking to get him out as soon as uncle Dave got the bullet?

He hated us so much from day one that he spent nearly three years with us picking up a wage and never handing in a transfer request.

Re: Remember him saying something similar when he left Rochdale to join us

Virtual ever present in Championship defence for two and a half seasons is given dog's abuse day in, day out on here after already being booed by several hundred fans and being subjected to grief by Barnsley fans on twitter. Can hardly blame him for saying **** off to the virtual Ponte when that's all he's heard since having two poor games over Christmas.
Could have stayed in the Championship so other managers must rate him. In any event the bookies would probably say that he has more chance of playing in the Championship next year than we have.
I wish him all the best, as I do every Red and ex-Red (apart from Chris Morgan).

PS can someone please do me an avator of Scott superimposed on Billy Casper's face as he gives the Vs?

The difference is, Scott Wiseman was speaking in a professional capacity, directly to the media, where as we're just shooting the ****. We talk all sorts of ***** on here, as we do in the pub, as I'm sure Scott Wiseman does when he's in the company of friends, but put us in our work clothes, interview us on our employees property, record what we're saying and we'll put some thought in to it and give you a respectful answer. Maybe not the whole truth, but what you read on here isn't the whole truth either, it's just a place to let off steam.

I don't think anyone is offended by what Scott said, they've just realised he's a *****. I think they're right, I think he is. I think he's symptomatic of the Keith Hill mentality, the 'we're all great and above you set of nob heads' thinking. that is just about as unattractive as you can get.

What I find really strange is that some Barnsley fans side with these people rather than our club and our fans.

I thanked Scott the other day, thought he'd done the right thing and wished him well. I wish I hadn't. I already knew he wasn't worth it as a footballer, but I thought he might be worth it as a man. He wasn't. He didn't like it here, he would have been gone a year ago if he could and he didn't care about us a jot, which I think explains a lot of the performances from him we've seen. He let us down time and again and it may not have been that he just wasn't good enough, as we suspected, but because he didn't give a ****. Thanks Scott, you're a credit to yourself.

Well said - most of us wanted him to go and have said so imany times - I could never fault his effort when he played for us but he wasn't good enough to play right back in the Championship( better as a centre half but still barely a squd player) Now he has to make sure he says the right things to his new employer. Lets be right he has left a championship club for a league 1 club - its hard to give a reason for doing that without saying something negative about the side he has left Not sure I would have said exactly what he said but but I don't hold any thing against him and wish him well in his new club

Admittedly I half arsed listened once to the interview, but I thought he just said he didn't enjoy his time at Barnsley. And it was a Preston radio interview about Preston. Nothing to do with BFC.

Evidently that makes me think our club is ****. I'm not siding with anyone. I just don't understand the indignation we manage to create over the tiniest of things.

Not least when I'm probably the worst culprit at sticking up for the club, current manager, players, owner et al.

I think it's personally out of order for a player to say "I never liked it from day one." With the amount of times I saw him idly jogging back while the winger terrorises the area of the pitch that he's supposed to be in, it makes me question even more my belief that he could have put a lot more effort in if he wanted to.

I don't. I posted the other day that I thought Scott Wiseman was both one of the best and the very worst player we've got. My theory was that he was inconsistent. I think I was probably wrong. It looks like he actually is a decent player, and those good games weren't a fluke, but the bad games can be explained because he didn't give a flying **** about us. If you're prepared to admit as much in an interview, why would you give 100% in a game? Leaving his man, not putting in the effort to get over to the winger, consistently neglecting his duties, this wasn't because he couldn't do it - as his admirers have told us many times, he certainly did it some times - it was because he didn't care. If you're not good enough, that's one thing, if you just don't give a ****, that's something else entirely and I'm furious with him.

There must have been some sub-text going on in that interview

You can get angry with me all you like ark, I'm not angry with you. I'm angry with Scott Wiseman. It's just a simple observation, you side with the likes of Keith Hill and Scott Wiseman over our club and our fans time and time again. You can argue the opposite if you like and I'll link you to at least 100 posts that prove otherwise. I didn't condemn you for it, I said I don't understand it (Well, I said it was weird, which amounts to the same thing), and I still don't. I'd like to understand it, because I like you, but I don't.

"I never liked it from day one"

I don't know what else you can infer. It's not subtext, if you don't like something to the point where you admit as such in a media interview that you know will be broadcast to anyone who wants to hear it, then you don't put your heart and soul in to it. No human being I have ever met does anyway.
