One of the London Tyke's went out to see in Bulgaria recently and said he might be back soon. Think the team were having problems getting paid! Wonder if he's still good enough to play at this level
He must have a good agent that lad. What's he actually done since he left Barnsley? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Since when has that been a problem in football (for players and managers). Football, the industry that just keeps on giving.
Another ex player I'd have back in a heartbeat. Dint he openly say he'd love to come back one day, cos he had unfinished business?
Really? Based on what though? He hasn't done a thing since he left us. Apart from get older and unfitter. Can't see how he would do anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Based on the fact that he can't be as bad as Perkins and co. He's older, but he's still younger than Perkins, 3 year younger if I'm not mistaken. And from what I saw of him at Portsmouth, he's got his sen into good shape... And unless he's been knecking ale back and fourth while he's been in Bulgaria, I'm sure he's still same. Worth a punt surely?
Forget what he did for us 6-7 years ago think since then. Imagine we were after a player that had played for Sheffield United. Since then that same guy barely played even as a sub for Reading, and didn't pull up any trees in the lower leagues at Brizzle and Pompey. Then after finishing last season at a relegated side joined a team in a country with a standard lower than the SPL. Few would be excited about it so just because it's Brian Howard it shouldn't be treated any differently.
My theory about Howard 'failing' at everywhere he's been since us, is that when Howard laiked for us he was in a side that was built around him... Same wi Butterfield. They're both special players that need catering for, if they're having a good game... Rest of the team is. I can't believe that Butterfield is barely laiking at Boro, they dunt realise they have a really good player at their club.
They do realise, but unlike us, they have Emnes, Adomah, Carayol, Ledesma, Whitehead and Leadbitter as midfield options and they've gained 13 points from the last 15, so Jacob knows he's not going to play every week. Just has to play well when he gets games, which he has done in general. Personally, he'd be ahead of Emnes or Whitehead for me but as I said, they're winning games so it is hard to argue with Karanka's selections. . Regards Howard, he's a talented player, you don't lose that. I'd pick him ahead of most of our midfielders but that's saying more about them than it is Brian.
We don't want him back, he's not good enough.Plus I spoke to his dad just after he left us and he said the reason he left was because he didn't get the player of the season that year !
I wouldn`t mind if Danny thought he was up to it at this stage of his career. A midfielder that drives forward, creates and aint freetened to hev a pop at goal. Those sort of players are usually not wanted here though.
