Dear Sir, I am writing to see what recompense we will receive for your clubs incompetence on Saturday. I was a work until 1'oclock on Saturday morning, went home for 5 hours sleep then set off to get my train from Doncaster at 6:30 Saturday morning. On your clubs website and tweets by Charlton this game was never in any doubt. We arrived in London at 9:40 and made our way south to Charlton. We were having a drink in the away pub, Antilligan I think it was called when at 13:00 I started receiving texts and tweets that a pitch inspection was taking place. I know I will get my match ticket money back but who is going to pay for our wasted train and tube fares which total £15 each for return train fare from Doncaster and our £8 each London zone travel. Also due to your clubs incompetence I won't be able to make the rearranged game as this will most likely be a midweek game which I will have to take 2 days off work, which I can Ill afford. I think your treatment of the away fans on Saturday was disgusting. Yours in good faith
What address did you send it to for the benefit of others who may like to email? We've just drafted a letter to the football league. We'll put it on our website later.
chris.parkes@cafc.co.uk customerservices@cafc.co.uk mick.everatt@cafc.co.uk anybody got anymore email addresses I can send to ?
Small print, conditions of sale and all that - they'll have it wrapped up. Let them know how you feel though, might pressure them into laying on some free buses from Barnsley or cheap tickets next season - if they stay up that is.
If anybody does want to write to the club, the address given by our supporters trust is: Steve Bradshaw Chief Operating Officer Charlton Athletic The Valley Floyd Road Charlton SE7 8BL Tel: 020 8333 4000
steve.bradshaw@cafc.co.uk He is the Chief operating Officer who's responsibility it is(& presumably the one who refused the referee's offer of Inspection on Friday!!)
I've sent him a lengthy email - and copied Ben Mansford in - I'll advise if I get a reply. See a local official has passed their cup game today - might be a different story when the proper match official gets there! Even Farm Road in the depths of Winter didn't get that bad. According to their manager Chris Powell, the Club will be addressing the issues they have with the pitch. Think they have a good shout to move to the Olympic Stadium(probably nearer than West Ham). Maybe WHU, Orient and Charlton could do a ground share????
Agree with all your comments etc. but could you tell me how & when did you get a return fare to London for £15 please. Could do with knowing for next time we go down.
Well in advance is best, ideally as they go on sale. But to be fair I only booked mine mid December and it was £8 each way.
Great, thanks SR. BTW,(even though I didn't go on Saturday) just emailed Steve Bradshaw to express my disgust at the shocking behavior by Charlton
