    We were talking about him the other day in the strike thread. Probably the most unfortunate manager in our history to receive the sack. Imagine us finishing 11th, getting to the quarter finals of the cup and flirting with promotion for much of the season, all after selling your star striker, then sacking the manager at the end of that season. Actually, John Hendrie could probably empathise (apart from the promotion bit). We'd give our right arm for that now. Well, the sleeve off our favourite jumper at least.

    That feels the heart with sadness. A great man brilliant at youth level and made a good fist of managing in difficult circumstances. I thought he was in his 60s.
