Presume he was injured for the Coventry debacle

I would have like to see him play against them

Yeah he's fit, almost get the feeling from Danny's comments regarding 'unpopular decisions' that he would probably have been moved on.

I doubt he will feature much under Danny. He needs players capable of more than 10 minutes a game

Rather that than the zero minutes from others. But aye, let's not pick our most talented player.

We have about a dozen not capable of playing well for any minutes so he's probably ahead of them in the queue.

Lots of other talented players in football are able to put a shift in, is he isn't prepared to then it's subs appearances only i guess.

Paddy would have paralysed Coventry...........for 75 minutes they were there for the taking.

We have a cart load of triers at the club.........but there is only Paddy that can see the killer pass and able to beat players and cause havoc in the oppositions defence.

I would pay to watch Paddy for just 15 minutes other than paying to watch most of the other players at the club.

I love Paddy but the minimum requirement of a professional footballer is to put a shift in every now and then. I don't want him tearing round the pitch like a headless chicken wasting all his energy trying to get the ball back, but breaking into a jog when not in possession would help us greatly.

I think you can get away playing him in the middle of a 3 in midfield, or off the striker. But if you're playing 442 then as a winger or centre midfielder then he's not going to get many starts.

agreed. not sure if he will go with a straight 4-4-2. i'm thinking more 4-1-4-1 might be his default formation, with bobby in front of the centre halves. we just need to get him on the pitch!

Fear he may be one of the unpopular decisions Danny has to make but if fit him, Shea and Lawrence in midfield would create a lot for us against Blackpool

Yeah for Hassell/Hillcroft see Paddy/Danny. Danny likes box to box midfielders like Redders was. Until Paddy puts in more workrate he isn't going to get much time out on the pitch. If someone offers us a nice sum he will probably be let go.

I would still like to see Paddy playing in the hole behind a quick goal scorer........and have Chris on the bench if at some point in the match we needed to go two up top

not really. hill croft took an irrational dislike to bobby, because they were paranoid about his presence at the Club and he wasn't one of their 'experiment'. even though he was far better than the players being selected. danny has just said paddy mccourt needs to work harder. which he does.

This pretty much. I'd argue that in a number of games under Flitcroft Paddy did work hard enough, but he didn't in the game Danny selected him. I still think he was the best player on the pitch like, but I really like him and don't care if he works hard or not, although I can understand why Danny dropped him as a result. I'd play McCourt every week, but I can see the reasons for not doing and if Danny chooses to leave him out then so be it. There'll never be a manager that any of us agree with all the time.

I don't think Danny's chalked **** on him though. He does select skilful players who don't put themselves about as much as others, always has done, so I'm sure Paddy will get another chance.

i agree jay. paddy's skill has had me on my feet at times. and if his head's right, he can waltz past any defence in the champ. but he's no good to us whatsoever, if he was only prepared to work for his mate flicker.

like you, i don't think danny has chalked **** on him either. but unless he's winning games and scoring goals, he won't be excused for his lack of work rate. i just hope danny can get that from him.

I agree, I don't think ill start every week, but id say Paddy's got a big part to play in us stopping up...he's a match winner, simple. But like everyone else who's picked. They will have too perform. Not time for any passengers.
I read one or two on here wanting Jennings to...have a run of games...can't see any experiment like that happening..Jennings will no doubt get a chance, but he will have to grasp it this time with both hands..or ill be out.

He's an impact sub at best if we're chasing a game for me.

Talent isn't everything, if it was Nani would start every game for Man Utd, Arshavin would've been a regular for Arsenal, Adam Johnson would be first name on the team sheet for England. We've got to go with the best team & get points on the board.

Judging by his comments I reckon Danny sees him as an impact player as well.

I'd like to see a midfield with Jennings on the right, Shea on the left, Hassell holding & either Mellis or Lawrence alongside him or both if we go one up top.

If Jennings doesn't deliver then you've the option of putting Lawrence on the right.

Can't wait for Saturday's match to see what team Danny puts together.
