Tonight's Transcript

I managed to blah a ticket - thanks to Sooty9. So i'll do my best to transcribe things. It will be edits to this post though, and I won't be creating new posts. It will be helpful if you wait until the transcript has ended, before commenting.

Session going to be largely Q&A. Update on transfer position and confirmation that the delay was purely personal reasons.

 

Question: lots of managers and we need stability. If we don't stay up, will Danny be staying
Answer: the intention is to stay around for a long time

 

Q: any movement on Lita
A: lots of rumours, but the Club will do things in private. Heard nothing more, but that is the level of player to attract. No time for players to bed in. Need instant impact players

 

Q: does Danny have a harder job now than last time
A: biggest threat to Clubs is the parachute payments to relegated teams. No longer the level playing field there was. No teams have it easy, but have to have the belief

 

Q: where has the money gone from stones, butterfield, davies, cup run etc
A: all the money that's come into the club has gone back out into the player budget. all very transparent in the accounts

 

Q: what is the attitude of the players, and what are the thoughts on wireman's comments
A: danny & ben both disappointed in the comments. crass, childish and fans rightly upset. player rotation is required to lift everything at the club and with the fans. have to make tough decisions, to move forward and give us a chance to survive

 

Q: something about latin club crest...can the club give the manager the support and resources he needs
A: within the financial constraints, the club will do everything they can to support danny. but there's only so much they can do. attendances are currently not enough, to allow us to break out of bottom 6 budget

 

Q: was danny impressed with anyone in the u21 game, particular the centre half (lecsien jean francois)
A: been with danny since swindon days. recently suffered coruscate ligament injury. monitoring, but nowhere near full match fitness. reiterating the support being given by ben and pc. the board fully appreciate position we're in, and doing everything to support

 

Q: what are the plans for the youth
A: digby, rose, oates, RNL all trained with first team today in a scaled down session. incredibly impressed with their attitude and has been impressed with recent u21 performances. they won't be long before they're playing. danny rose has been offered a contract extension, RNL to end of next season and digby on a 4 year deal. definitely part of the plans

 

Q: how many more players is danny looking for
A: 2 or 3 more..

 

Q: hill was once described as 'the bald mourinho', what are danny's thoughts
A: danny has been on the phone with hull representatives (hint), so can't comment all the best to hill and flitcroft in their new jobs. let's just move on with our own future

 

Q: does danny ever think about his last success. and can we recreate it
A: all the time. special moments. we had a dream then, and why not again. you have to have confidence and belief

 

Q: any plans to strengthen the defence
A: have to prioritise. that priority right now is entertaining the crowd and scoring more goals. starting at the back puts too much pressure on the front too. best form of defence is attack and put fear in other team's defence. every player has a duty to work for their team mates, no matter how talented they are

 

Q: the coventry performance was woeful. are the players willing to fight
A: some of the players are browbeaten and confidence is low. this is why new players are required, to freshen things up and lift spirits. have to change the losing mentality and go into games expecting to win. if there are any signs of players not willing to fight, they will go

 

Q: age bracket currently 18-20. will that increase to include more youth/students. also, will there be more kids tickets
A: have to get the next generation in. will review the youth and young adult pricing next season. will depend on where we are financially. priority on spend is to create the best squad possible, and hopefully the fans will start to return
