The one massive negative about Twitter, the behaviour at times is shocking. Taylor Swift receiving death threats because she put on a fake English accent at the Grammy's (how dare you insult Harry from One Direction they cried). Then the random girl from England who said something like 'Considering I don't like him, this Justin Bieber jazz album is pretty decent', was Retweeted by the 'man' himself, and then she proceeded to get death threats from all the Beliebers. Something needs to be done
It was not just Collymore getting abuse yesterday. See this transcript from a Beth Tweddle Q&A on Sky Sports... http://storify.com/EverydaySexism/sky-sports-news-live-q-and-a-with-beth-tweddle-twi Looks like a lot of people need to preventing from typing ever again.
makes you wonder where to start. some deeply ****** up individuals involved in spewing this type of venom.
agreed, but the two shouldn't be connected. the fact that he's a dogging, lady slapping bit of a dick, doesn't justify this. if it wasn't stan, it would be someone else
I clicked on a couple of profiles from that link you sent and these people aren't kids, they're grown adults. Appalling.
I have never understood Tw@tter and why anyone would want to use it, but I am old fashioned and prefer to speak to my friends face to face or on the phone: plus I do not need to know what they had for tea or which drink they now downing in a given pub. That said, those idiots who post offensive tweets should be identified and prosecuted and it baffles me why they are not, surely there are laws against this type of abuse.
The problem is most of them who are sending the racist abuse aren't actually racist they're just trying to get attention off of someone famous which is what they've managed to do with Morgan & Collymore giving them the coverage they are after. I think there's more chance of people stopping if you just ignore them but at the same time they deserve to be punished.
Twitter is **** hot. Don't let the fact that morons use it put you off. Morons watch Tarn at Oakwell, morons work alongside you, morons in your family probably. Fact is, Collymore is a moron. As are those who racially abuse him. Let em get on with it.
Regarding that Beth Tweedle: it's bad that nearly everyone that retweeted her sent her vile stuff like they did... But I've gotta admit reading some of them then just made me laugh my balls off!
I don't use twitter or know much about it. I'm not interested in Stan Collymore, let alone cowardly enough to send abusive messages. It's the same old losers who need the internet for a personality, because they've got no talent for anything and very little else in their lives. If they had, it wouldn't even occur to them to abuse someone via the internet.
Twitter is not for me. It's out of order posting extreme abuse and threats on Twitter, but I wouldn't expect much sympathy for Stan Collymore. He's been "no angel" in his private life, and this will be in people's minds. What gets me is that these Tweets are all related to him saying that Suarez dove for the penalty on Saturday......so what if he did, Collymore is paid to pass comment and the dimwits who then posted on Twitter should surely know this? The whole episode for me, is a big childish.
Exactly. "I don't use twitter but I'm going to tell you it's this, this and this and people who use it are this, this or this." I don't use an angle grinder. End of sentence.
Aye it pisses me off. I tend to follow a lot of cricket and football journos as well as BFC fans as I find it interesting to see other people's views on stuff as it happens or afterwards for BFC games. Also a lot of funny stuff on there, some of the parodies are class.
