If he didn't still look about 14, i.e. had some facial hair and less of a baby face, would people still get the impression that he needs to 'bulk up'? I think the fact that he doesn't look old/his lack of height can make him seem like he isn't physically mature, and as others have said, his game is about movement and finishing, fast reactions that he could lose if he develops the wrong muscle groups.

All I will say is he's tougher than I think he looks to other people.

Hes a natural goalscorer and hes been kicked a lot in matches but he very rarely lets it affect him.

I still think 12/15 yard out hes the best we have at the club.

On to a striker thats recently signed for a top champ club, Kevin Philips. How muscle his he?

I love this idea of a baby-faced assassin, but what about the time he has had out injured? Either by being kicked or breaking down because his body isn't up to the strain. Martin Bullock was a much better player, but even smaller than Rose, so it's not all about build. He kept out of trouble by being quick, but didn't have the pressure of mixing it up with defenders in the box.

I'm more worried about Rose's emotional maturity than physical, to be honest and I hope he's grown up a bit since he was dropped a year ago. But he is in very good hands with Wilson, who obviously likes him hence the contract. :)

Goodness Mr.C, every player will get injured. Hes had a foot problem well in my opinion the most strong striker in Englands had Foot problems.

He can mix it, Shittu. He wasn't scared of him. He went for the ball and Shittu got angry because he had.

    Michael owen.....

If he knows where the net is he is good enough imo. Little and agile will get around big bulky defenders all week. Until they get clobbered

We won't know what he is capable of without playing him. DW will use him I'm sure.

I hope it is temporary and Rose, RNL, Digby will toughen up physically as they mature. Because at this rate they will be lucky to make 100 career games between them. And you are right, Jermaine Dafoe has had foot problems.

Rose was a prat v Millwall, I said as much at the time. He even hid behind Perkins, you can see it in the video. That kind of behaviour will get you hurt. Or dropped, in young Danny's case.

Owen and Phillips though are stocky.

Rose is built like a 14 year old. When he fills out he should be fine.

I had these same thoughts a year ago when he played quite a few first team games. Seemed to lose his head if he missed a good chance and let the red mist sometimes cloud his 'game face'.

I thought a loan period and experience of League football weekly would have been great for him to develop his mentality, but it now seems that thebtime is right to use him at Oakwell. I believe/hope that Wilson will, and we'll see Rose progress.

He was emotional as he'd just scored his first goal for the club he loves. I'd have done the same thing. The nonsense regarding Shackell making him cry etc is exactly that.
I'm only going on what Danny has said himself, like.

I agree with you though on this one. He was digging at Shittu for a while, and then Shittu'd himself.

Have to disagree. Owen was a twig at Rose's age, just watch footage of him being drowned by that England shirt in '98 and Euro 2000. Pace and movement was what made him and hopefully can Rose.
