I watched the film Cass last night, based on Cass Pennant's memoirs. He was a West Ham football hooligan, for those who haven't heard of him. After I'd watched it I had a read of his Wikipedia page and, following links, I read the Wikipedia page on football hooliganism. It's not very well written and contained one or two dodgy bits of information, but then I came across a bit about Reds fans abusing Billy Sharp about his child who died. The way that it is written isn't wrong, as it simply says that it was reported in the Daily Mail that...etc. However, for balance it doesn't state that it was untrue allegations that were made up by a Leeds fan sitting at his computer! I tried having a look at how to complain to Wikipedia and have it removed, but couldn't quite see how to do this. It seemed to say that you can make edits to pages yourself, so I wondered if any of you lot have done this before? To find the line in question type football hooliganism and it is point 160. Either way, it needs either amending or removing, because it is very misleading and is a horrible thing to accuse us of. Any help would be appreciated.
Google how to change Wikipedia Editing Editing most Wikipedia pages is simple. Simply click on the "edit" tab at the top of a Wikipedia page (or on a section-edit link). This will bring you to a new page with a text box containing the editable text of the current page. Edit box showing the wiki markup as of Aug 2nd 2012.
Done, and sentence removed! I had to register with the site, which I hadn't done yesterday when I was trying to remove it. I'll just have to keep my eye out in case that Leeds fan sticks it back in!
