To me he is "chuffing f*ucking Rammell". That photo takes me back to my youth with him constantly having a go at Rammell. "Yer chuffing useless Rammell. I can run faster than thee" "Tha couldn't hit a barndooar".
That's Kelvin! Been following the Reds home and away for years, along with his brother. Keen cyclist, used to work on the railways so got cheap train tickets, dunno if he still does... Lovely fella, salt of the earth.
Ah yes, Kelvin - my friend @FreezingTyke knows him too - I never knew his name way back when, but I used to see him everywhere, and he sat a couple of rows behind us in the Ponte end in the Premiership season. Not sure what pleasure he's ever got from watching the Reds, as he's never seemed happy! Great fan, mind you - so earns my ultimate respect. Good on yer brother too for making the trip today.
It was one of the highlights of the 5-0 Birmingham win when the TV cameras showed the Reds fans after the fourth or fifth goal and Kelvin punched the air with a big grin on his face. I can't remember the last time I saw him happy at a game!
You'll get no airs and graces from Kelvin, he & his brother will go anywhere and everywhere to watch Barnsley.
I saw them at Selby town one Wednesday night for a pre season game about 5 years ago. It was all youth team and we lost 3-2.
Kelvin and Ashley Blandamour - grew up in t'Dale and move to t'Brig in their teens. You'll be hard pressed to find more ardent Barnsley fans. Never miss a match home or away. Kelvin has seen Barnsley play on about 100 grounds and has visited all 92 league grounds most of them more than once. He's even been known to go watch the reserves in an away match. In fact, over the past 45 years I reckon you could count the number of matches he's missed (home and away) on one hand.
That is both fantastic, and barmy. Perhaps the perfect candidate for that supporter of the year award that the club mentioned t'other day?
My best mate used to work with him, he goes everywhere and anywhere to watch football full stop. Barnsley first and foremost but if we aren't playing they will find a game somewhere to watch.
Sounds a top bloke and top fan. Not sure about watching a game live that we aren't playing in though lol.
Aye, Kelvin, used to stand near us in the Ponty many years ago. Never seemed happy no matter how we were playing
Reight lad, stood next to him and his brother on the Ponte. Always remember Steve Lowndes was his favourite target, he used to go ballistic if he misplaced a pass.
