Have you ever seen Paul Digby pass forwards ?, i've hardly seen the lad play, but keep hearing and reading that people think he should get his chance in the first team, but from the little i've seen he can't even do the basics, its always side ways and back 2 or 3 yard passes,

    Got to agree with you

    Thought he was dreadful though

They were a few players on the field today who were also worse than Kennedy

You must have watched a completely different game to me.

Got caught in possession a couple of times, probably due to not being use to the speed of the championship. But steadied the ship when he came on. Played the position that Dawson was suppose to be playing in and made us look a lot more solid and organised I thought.

The first few games he played for us last season, he was pinging diagonal passes forwards 40 yards to feet.

    Give him a break.

We were over-run in centre mid because we had Shea playing in no-mans land. The centre two had so much ground to cover it was unreal.

I think people must be under the impression that it was somehow a magic trick that changed the game in the second half, we didn't change the formation, until 65 minutes the only change which was made was Digby for Dawson, must have just been a total co-incidence that we stopped getting our a***s handed to us in midfield then?

First 5 minutes of second half he was poor.

Rest of game I thought he did well

I thought he did well. Sideways & backwards was the 'handbrake' Jonathan Greening. Digby did well, he protected the back 4 better than Dawson had, especially by cutting off the long balls to the big lad up front (in much the same way Hassell did at Leeds) & he played the simple but effective pass more often than not.

If he'd have looked up and seen Tompole unmarked i feel confident that we'd have gone 3-2 up.

Him and countless others. Tompole should have been given the ball more often, undoubtedly.

a lot of the time when a forward pass is on we look for the easy 2 yard pass sideways or back, thats just a lack of confidence and a fear of making a mistake i understand that, but where struggling at the bottom of the league it's about time the shackles came off and we took a few more risks it can't get any worse and from what i've seen some of the players are better then they think they are, but their just too timid

Agree. But we've had a season of Perkins doing that. You've given Digby half a game.

The difference for me is that Digby can actually pick a pass. He's a young kid. He will make mistakes, but I do think he has the talent.

Give him a chance, I think he'll come good.

Couldn't disagree more. I thought he was just what we needed at the time. The performance he put in was that of a player with lots of experience, rather than someone who's played a handful of matches.

I'll give him a chance i always do, i'd just like someone thats seen more of him then me to come on and tell me what he's about at a lower level, as i've just said i can understand him being tentative not wanting to make mistakes so that he keeps is place in the squad but from what i've seen of him he looks shy, i hear all about his ball playing skills but never see it

Isn't the basics keeping the ball. Or would you prefer he lumped it up front aimlessly

Let's hope the people who gave him a 4-year contract, and see him every day, know better than you then. FFS he's 18, played for his country. FFS!
