Jamdrop - O Beard plays well in one game then bad for the next 5 or 6 I cannot fault his effort but he simply does not have the consistency or quality at championship standard. Tactically gets caught out a lot, can't beat a man, his delivery at times is woeful and tends to get caught out of position. If football was about a headless chicken chasing a feather around Oakwell in a hurricane then O Beard and Dawson would be man of the match every week. Wilson is filtering in championship standard with the new breed of players and getting rid of the lower league standard players. I'm afraid Dawson, O Beard and Kennedy will be next for the chop, because you cannot keep playing one decent game in 7 and getting away with it. Kennedy and Dawson tonight were woeful.
Re: Jamdrop - O Beard plays well in one game then bad for the next 5 or 6 1. What's with all the similes and metaphors? 2. His name is O'Brien.
Re: Jamdrop - O Beard plays well in one game then bad for the next 5 or 6 Anyway, well done Nick and congrats on your goal!
Re: Jamdrop - O Beard plays well in one game then bad for the next 5 or 6 Which of our players played well?
Whitey -not slating them mate just speaking facts - too late to be carrying dead wood Wilson needs plug and play championship standard players and the ones he has brought in its exactly what we've been crying out for. Its too late in the season now to carry on giving the likes of Dawson and Kennedy a start every week. They are weak links and always will be. The team needs points and quick sharp as we are playing catch up. Yes I agree with you it was a point gained against a very good team tonight but I think our weak midfield particularly first half made them look good and at times they were just walking through us and we invited pressure on. Heard whispers that we are landing another player and maybe a couple going out on loan so fingers crossed.
Stahlrost - Poschwitz and Ramage were the stand out players for me tonight Steele did some smart saves also. Jennings looked good for an hour also. O Grady works very hard every week but I would say Poschwitz and Ramage did very well. Brek showed glimpses also. I think Lawrence will make a difference when he fit.
Re: Stahlrost - Poschwitz and Ramage were the stand out players for me tonight Can't argue with much of that but you took some persuading to mention it! Your choice but I prefer to concentrate on the good things about tonight even though we all know there were some bad ones, especially in the first half.
Re: Whitey - In 50 games for BFC how many good ones compared to bad ones has Dawson h If you are going to talk in cliches, at least copy them out correctly. It's the second touch is always a tackle, suggesting the first one wasn't very good and you have lost control and possession of the ball. Cut and paste Conan's posts, if it helps.
Trouble is they are not our players they are loaned to us and if we go down even our better players will leave ie cog then we might need Dawson and Kennedy for the lower league.
Re: Jamdrop - O Beard plays well in one game then bad for the next 5 or 6 Agreed, good debut, can see him doing well against the Fowls on Sat
Re: Nick Proschwitz goal a game - Dawson and Kennedy absolute garbage EVERY game You begin to notice after a while Jam that its the same folk that slag O`Brien off and they trot out the same garbage time and time again. He didn`t play well tonight he gave Cairney far too much room and spent most of the time trying to get Dawson back in to position because Dawson thinks he has a free role. This led to us being overrun in the first haif through midfield also Shea and Jennings didn`t help out much until Blackburn equalised. Danny reacted to this but a little slowly for my liking, maybe us taking the lead against the run of play had summat to do with it.
Re: Nick Proschwitz goal a game - Dawson and Kennedy absolute garbage EVERY game Thought Proschwitz did pretty well and him and COG could click very well. In fact, in addition to COG and Ramage, I thought all our unfit and 'lightly raced' players, Shea, Lawrence, Jennings, Proschwitz, Digby showed enough that when they are fully up to speed then they can be very influential.
Solid first performance from him, took his goal really well and could really have had a hattrick. Reminded me of Istvan Ferenczi, before his legs went.
Yes he reminded me of 'Stan' as well though he's a bit more lightweight. I really enjoyed watching him last night. O'Grady offers us so much and is a really good player but is certainly no traditional forward it was nice to see Proschwitz in and around the job looking for space and having as many attempts as humanly possible. Very promising debut.
Would like to see a replay of that where he was on his own 8 yards out, surely he had to be offside and if he wasn't he thought he was, almost as if he couldn't believe he was in that position.
The lad's not afraid to have a shot. It's what we've been crying out for Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I thought he had a good debut, Paul. Scored an excellent goal and took a lot of the pressure off O'Grady, who prospered because of it.
Yeah that was a frustrating miss that would have changed the course of the game. Glad it didn't take too much longer to get on the scoresheet though.
Pressure on O'Grady? Well if you can't make yourself available, receive a long pass, hold it up, fend of challenges from opposing defenders, look up, find a team-mate in space, play him the perfect pass, get up off the floor after the late challenge the ref hasn't seen, run 50 yards in 6 seconds, evade your marker, find some space, stay on-side, watch for the cross and then get your foot and/or your head to it and score - on a regular basis, then I don't know what we are paying him for!!
