Between 83/84 season and 2007/08 I went to every Barnsley game at Hillsborough. We lost every single league game and every cup game that mattered. Only result I saw us get was that stupid Simod Cup thing or whatever it was and that was ******* freezing. I then missed the one in 2009 and we won. So I'm not going any more for the sake of my sanity and the team.
I would love to, but the fact I have a 8 weeks on baby and a 5 year, that doesn't see me much through the week as I have work commitments I prefer to spend my time at home with my family, Suppose I fall in the arm chair fan,and not a real fan.
I vowed not to return to Swillsborough untill something serious is done about the safety issues.. my mate suffers from asthma, and the half time nightmare of going to the toilet battling your way through smog worse than London in the 60s is real... I am also concerned that should a fire break out the concequences would be catastrophic..so the shithole that is Swillsborough wont be seeing me anytime soon...
Sorry lads only a suggestion. Even at £29 it's one of the cheapest away games of the season when you factor in the minimal travel costs.
Well I live in Leeds so it's more for me than people from Barnsley. Point I was tyring to make is plenty of people go on about how many we've sold and the fact that it's ambarassing but arn't going themselves. Wether you go or not is up to you. I like to get behind the team when I can but understand others have work/family/money commitments. However, It's only £3/4 more expensive than other away games further afield, and plenty less than Leeds was. If people can't make it then fair enough. I'm a contradictory bast.ard, I know.
I'd love to be there but I genuinely can't afford to pay out £29 for a ticket, plus expenses. I don't go on about how many we've sold, but I do know that if the tickets were say £15, I would've been there. £14 doesn't sound a lot, but to some, it is and it can and does go towards more essential things. I pay my season ticket money out at the beginning of the year, and I try and go to as many away games as I can do and more importantly, afford. I'll be trying to listen to the match and will be cheering the lads on in spirit.
