Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. I'd just about erased it from my mind and then I came across this. You should be banned. In fact you should ban yourself.
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. i still can't see that's a penalty. for me liera pull his leg away and mellis falls into it. i wouldn't be happy if it's gone against us anyway. just my honest view.
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. brek shea is lucky not to have had his knees knackered, that was the worst of the lot, looks even worse everytime you watch it.
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. What annoys me about our penalty appeal is that if it isn't a penalty and I dont think it is then it is an obvious dive so why wasn't he booked like earlier players were?
Video of tadays major talking points here. Agree with that. Not that it matters. He went Kung fu 30 seconds after Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. think it looks worse than it is that tackle. To me its one footed and he misses everything. But he was awlays going to be sent off for it
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. Why was it an obvious dive? He lost his footing and there was some (minimal) contact, as he was on his way down. It's not always black and white; penalty or dive. Sometimes it's neither.
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. The throwing of arms up in the air asking for the penalty is the kicker for me which says he's either been brought down (penalty) or he is attempting to simulate that that is what happened (booking)
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. Not at all. If something's not black it doesn't make it white! Mellis turned quickly, lost his balance and went over. Their player flicked his foot out, but it had no bearing on Mellis' fall, as he was going over anyway. Mellis was clutching at straws asking for the penalty, but he didn't necessarily dive to win a penalty. He was probably a little embarrassed that he fell over to be honest. Either way, he managed to convince himself that he was badly done to, hence flying in like he did a few seconds later. For the sending off, he didn't really appear to have kicked their player, who was more guilty of simulation than Mellis, but watching it in real time it looked bad and, although he only led with one foot, he was off the floor and jumped in with his studs showing, so there's little chance we'd get that overturned.
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. ...or he's fallen over, is embarrassed and is clutching at straws?
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. Erm if you fall over and are embarrassed about that so you decide to clutch at straws by throwing your arms up and appealing for a penalty then you're simulating
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. I really can't understand how a one footed tackle that gets the ball is even a foul never mind a sending off. He went in hard, but since when was that a crime?
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. Looking at that I would say that the referee had a decent game...... Frimpong needs to understand that you need to keep on your feet Mellis wasn't going to latch onto the ball in the box....and it was debatable whether their defender touched him Mellis should know that you cannot dive in two footed Their player should have been sent off JOB was not the only one at fault for their goal........our defence, especially Shea was slow at coming out.....our goalkeeper should be able to stop shots from that distance Hard hard lessons learnt here
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. If he's felt contact does he know if he's been fouled or not? My point is, it's not always black and white. Like many things in life.
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. That's what it looks like to me too. I would have appealed for the penalty too, there was some contact, but he was going down because he slipped. Not a penalty, not a dive, right decision. His sending off, however, I don't understand a single bit of it. One footed, got the ball, not the man. Proper man's tackle, perfectly timed.
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. Yes. If you fall over and in your embarrassment you throw your arms in the air and simulate that you were fouled and appeal for a penalty then that is simulation
Re: Video of tadays major talking points here. No you're not. If you deliberately throw yourself to the ground, start rolling round and then ask for a penalty, that's simulating. If you turn, fall over, feel a kick from the opposition player and then claim that is what made you fall over then you are simply wrong! Mellis wasn't simulating, as it doesn't appear he was diving to win the advantage. He fell over, felt some contact and tried to claim it was the contact that made him fall over when it was really his lack of balance. What you are suggesting is that every time someone goes down and asks for a foul, if the foul isn't given he must therefore be simulating and should be shown a yellow card. If that was the case no game would ever get finished, because there'd be nobody left on the pitch!
