But nothing compared to some of our trips to Hillsborough. At least yesterday Wednesday can legitimately claim they deserved the victory, even if they had superior numbers for the majority of the game. Well, they had plenty of possession at any rate, so it gives them something to cling to. At least the goal that beat us was a valid one, even if we brought it on us ourselves. I've seen us dominate for the entire 90 minutes and still lose. I've seen us play them to death and still lose. I've seen us lose to goals that were yards off side and goals that involved a physical assault on our players in the build up. I've seen Ronnie Glavin dribble the ball to the byline, cross it backwards for Ian Banks to nod home, only for the linesman to flag for offside. I've seen Mick Pickering break Derrick Parker's leg. I've seen us cheated in every manner imaginable at Hillsborough and I fully expect it to continue for as long as we keep playing there. It's written in the stars, we're allowed to win there once every 25 years, but that's it, we've then got to endure all manner of ****. I'll probably get over this in a few days, but I'm still holding a grudge from the early 1980s.
I can't stand it anymore; I am sick of feeling this angry and cheated every time we play the fritzels at their dump. It breaks every law of averages. Still very down in the dumps.
When that guy who's now at West Brom (can't remember his name) scored with their only shot on target all game, in injury time in 2007, when Mark Richards had earlier missed at least 3 sitters, I promised myself I'd never return there. And i won't.
Agree with that - it's impossible to rationally explain why it keeps happening to us at their place. I'm gonna stop going, it's the only solution.
Dont know why I went yesterday, i have ever ever seen us beat Wednesday, home or away. Not sure why i expected it to be any different
A fritzal with me is trying to claim there 15 shots off target all pot shots from 40 yards out is a claim they deserved the win. Hate them, or him shall I say.
last time I saw us win at Hillsborough clarkie was still manager I think. but it is the big city, with a cultured fan base, and it is our cup final,so i'll keep going I suppose,if only to get some fish and chips from that chinky on leppings lane
