I heard that the board made them both go home and get all their medals and compare collections to see who was right. After several hours spent arguing over which was better - an Intertoto Cup medal or a Charity Shield medal it was declared a draw so they settled it with an old fashioned measure-up.

O'Shea won. Like a Guinness can.

The obvious flaw in this comparison is that Di Canio was a hell of a player whereas O'Shea is/was an ok defender. I know Di Canio is from before you started following football but believe me there is no way John OShea will think he is a better player than Di Canio was. If he does he's as deluded as your opinion in this thread, which let me tell you is pretty feckin deluded.

Arrigo Sacchi never played the game at a high level but what does he know about the game, i'm sure Gary Neville will know more.

I appear to have slipped into a coma when O'Shea won the Euro's and World Cup with Ireland or when he won the super cup or when he won the Johnstones paint trophy. I do remember when his side was getting dumped out of the Football league trophy though and when he played in a Man Utd side that got dumped out of the league cup year after year.

So no he didn't win every trophy he could have in fact Di Canio won trophies that O'Shea will never hold

Has this thread turned in to who is the best footballer, Paolo Di Canio or John O'Shea? I know who's the better person. Give me O'Shea over Di Canio every day of the week. Unfortunately, there is no correlation between how nice you are and how good you are at football.

Paolo Di Canio could do this

    John O'Shea has a go

Yep, absolutely correct. I've scored a load of goals like that - and better ones, but I'm fairly sure I'm not a Nazi.

Agreed. Not seen a ball caught so sweetly before or since.

After a full 3 minutes consideration I reckon this is probably the best prem goal, especially when you see it from the second angle
